That Clairo cover made me revisit Robbers for the first time in ages since I usually don't go for the debut when I want to listen to this band. I really love this song, still one of my favourites.

 

Easily the best of the bunch, so good

I've thought about this lately, and honestly I think the existence of YouTube has kinda lowered my love of covers. When I was younger I LOVED hearing artists cover songs, but now you can go to YouTube and find literal hundreds of covers for any song, they aren't as exciting or unique.

That being said, that's why the best covers these days are when artists really put their own spin on a track, or change it up a lot. Rina does that well here. The issue with the other covers from this is that it's all been done before, I am sure we can find nearly identical arrangements for these songs on YT right now

 

For me it’s that since quarantine started all we’ve really had is acoustic versions of things, and i’m very over it.

 

I’m starting to get antsy for this album...

 

I’m not over good artists doing good acoustic covers of good songs ftr

 

I think Rina Sawayama covering “Love It If We Made It” is now my official quarantine anthem.

 

They were all fine, but I probably won’t be going back to any of them. Felt like Rina was the only one who did anything with the prompt.
