Diving into this now! Probably gonna have to do it in parts. Only a few songs deep so far but it’s been solid, really loving track 4 right now

 

Got about half way through today. Really loving it.

 

Sympathy is so good! A couple of the members used to be in one of my favorite early 2000s bands, Long Since Forgotten. Seriously, check them out if you haven't before. I was so stoked when Sympathy said they'd be on the comp!

And great news, everybody! We are almost to $300!!! So stoked that this has been successful today! I hope it carries on through the weekend and next week, at least. My plan is to submit donations next Friday, assuming it slows down by the end of the week, like things typically do. I hope that’s not the case though! I hope it grows and grows! :)

Finally sitting down and listening to this from the beginning with a good pair of headphones. Never heard Sympathy before but this song rocks! Gonna have to dive into their other stuff once I'm done.

 

I thought it was so awesome that a lot of you contributed songs that were specific to the times we're living in, that I got inspired and wrote a new covid themed song Friday night. I really wish I had this song on the comp instead. Hope you like it!

 

This is a bunch of fun! I liked your track on the compilation a lot too though, glad you included that one so we could get another track from you! Love the production on your songs, really gives what you’re doing a 90s alternative feel

I was really excited about this one when I finished it. It's gonna take 2 weeks for this and my comp song to get published on the streaming sites, but in these covid times 2 weeks feels like a literal eternity hahaha. So I did the best I could at making a lyric video and just threw it up.

 

I forgot about this! Gonna give it a go today. My song is track 20. A little acoustic diddy.

Fun fact about the name Castun....It’s nutsac spelled backwards.

Me and my best friend have recorded under that name for years now and just never release anything lol. We started out as a cover band in high school and got called The Ballzacs by some people at our first show. It stuck. We stopped playing shows and parties at the end of college then started writing and recording our own stuff under the name Castun. Had to keep the name in the same family as Ballzacs.

That was fun. For our next one we should do songs inspired by universes where time runs backward

For anyone interested, the song 'We can do better than this' by my project Parting Words, that was featured on the Covid mixtape is now live on Spotify (and most other streaming services). There is also a new song to find there.

 

Ryan (frontman of Rookie of the Year) has been saying weird political stuff the last few days. Not just about all of the riots and such, but also COVID stuff. I’m sick of it so I removed his band from the COVID compilation too. It just feels wrong having them on there, let alone as the opener.

I feel like we definitely need to do another comp of some kind. Quarantine is the perfect time to be doing things like this.
