This is a thread to discuss times you met someone (or multiple people) famous in entertainment, whether it be an actor/actress, director, producer, YouTuber, author, etc. and talk about your experience(s) meeting them (good and bad), including stories that fall under accountability.

I live in the area Leon Bridges lived and hung out around before he blew up. Have had drinks with him a handful of times at the bar or a friends house. He’s always been super nice and humble. He isn’t in town as much anymore obviously but every now and then I’ll see him walking around or grabbing coffee or ice cream. Good dude.

Peter Dinklage bought groceries from me at a Stop & Shop in New Paltz, NY when I was like 21 or 22. i think it was season 2 or 3 of GoT and it was obv a phenomenon. he was in a hat, big jacket, sunglasses, clearly not trying to get recognized. i, as a young asshole, ignored these signs and said something along the lines of "i hate to presume and hope i don't offend, but are you Peter Dinklage?" as im sure a ton of smaller people get that question and it is probably very annoying. he said yes, i said i was a fan, he thanked me and asked how my day was etc. quick few line exchange.

of course i got drunk at a party and blew the story way out of proportion and made it sound epic because i was a fuckin young idiot

When I ran the movie theatre in Union Square in nyc I had several regulars there. The ones that stood out as the nicest were Elizabeth Berkley and John Leguizamo. Edward Norton wasn’t a regular but the few times he came for an event he was extremely kind to me.

Didn’t meet but when vacationing on the Jersey Shore in 2010, Jon Stewart, his family, and another family they were vacationing with were seated at a few tables away from me one morning at a breakfast place. I didn’t want to impede to say hi but the restaurant’s manager came over and thanked him for stopping by. Seemed like a friendly fellow.

Billy Corgan wrote a poetry book and I went to a book signing with my friend (whose a diehard SP fan) and we were towards the end of the line and so when we finally got to see him, he was visibly tired and unenthusiastic.

also, this isn’t a name peeps here probably know, but when working at CVS, Rick Wakeman (prolific keyboardist, played in Yes) popped in one morning, not knowing who he was until my Boomer assistant manager recognized him and greeted him

Paul Newman's kids camp was right down the road from a grocery store I worked at. So he was decently a regular. Was always nice and one time he gave me a "go get em" so yeah, that was a highlight.

Kid Cudi and Krysten Ritter were both very nice when I met them

I've seen Morgan Freeman, Meg Ryan, Stephen Colbert and Rob Halford out and about in NYC but I never talk to them that feels wrong

Oh also. I worked on Lady In The Water for a few weeks and I quickly learned that M Night Shyamalan is one of the kindest people in Hollywood. He does things on his sets that very few, if any, directors do. (I was told this by many of his crew). He threw an amazing Halloween party on set. I danced with Bryce Dallas Howard. Life highlight there haha.

I get kinda blown when people on the internet are mean about him. Calling him a hack and stuff. He’s a real good guy

I met Verne Troyer at Harry's Bar in Venice in November of 2013. I was really drunk and yelled at him about when Austin Powers 4 would come out. He asked me to leave him alone so I left.

I've met a bunch of bands/comedians at signing and M&Gs and stuff. Linkin Park, Scott Ian, Jason Newsted, Thrice, Lamb of God are probably the biggest.

Rick Carlisle (head coach of the Mavericks) used to eat at the restaurant I worked at.

Reggie White (of Green Bay Packers/UT Vols fame) and I were on a first name basis, but the pictures together have been lost. Really sad about that.

    A (Cancelled) Dork Prestigious

I met all the main male cast members of The Sopranos once in high school when they were doing a signing at this charity walk/run I was at. That was pretty sweet.

I was interviewed for the news on the street by Al Roker once when I was a small child going to see a Power Rangers stage show in New York. I pointed out that I was wearing a watch which was also a communicator through which I could talk to Zordon.

When I went to see Oh, Hello while Mulaney and Kroll were doing it off broadway, I was waiting outside with my wife looking at the poster for the show, which was on display. All of a sudden a hear “Cool poster, huh” to my left. I turned and it was Nick Kroll getting ready to walk in the door to go get ready for the show. I babbled something about being excited to see the show and he thanked me and went inside. Then while we were in the theater, several famous comedians were there to watch the show, including Jason Mantzoukas, Seth Morris, and Colin Jost (this was pre-him dating ScarJo so she wasn’t there). Then AFTER the show as we were leaving the theater and walking down the street we saw John Mulaney waiting for his Uber or something and I said “great show!” in passing and he thanked me for coming.

I spent a few months with Good Charlotte during the time the twins in the band were dating Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Mostly nothing but good things to say, all of the members of GC were great guys and Nicole was a genuine human & extremely down to earth, really could really not have been a nicer person. Stayed at her and Joel’s house soon after they had their first kid and it was really wild waking up in the morning and seeing them just being like.... normal ass parents. Playing on the floor with the baby with breakfast sitting on the table.

    Paris wasn’t the best,

Frankie Muniz stopped by the Guitar Center I used to work at every now and then, like 10 or so years ago. Wasn’t the friendliest guy, but the whole child star thing has gotta be rough, hah. I did once witness a dude in his entourage try to buy a $3000 guitar and “forget his wallet in the car” lol, Frankie spotted him for it without a second to think
