Lol I just came back to say it's a joke. My eyes were bleeding looking at the first row of dates I didn't look at the rest.

Am I bad at twitter? No it's the children who are wrong

Was postponed but is now is canceled. I can see others that have postponed dates doing the same

Definitely weird seeing bands announce new tour dates... grayscale just posted new dates in September and I honestly don’t see that happening.

A lot of bands have new dates booked September-December. Can't just not work and pretend this will be how it is 5-8 months from now. Advance ticket sales will be down but day of show/walk up will be higher than usual

Postponing a newly announced fall/winter show is better than telling independent/smaller promoters to just not book anything the rest of this year

I totally understand that for these musicians touring is their career and all but...I have to agree that it just seems a bit selfish to be announcing new dates. No one knows when people will be able to go to shows again, people are out of jobs and not interested in (or can't afford at the moment) buying tickets to a show that may likely be postponed or cancelled, and just because cities are trying to open back up doesn't mean gatherings of hundreds of people will be allowed the rest of the year. That's why I was surprised to see bands like Prince Daddy/Oso Oso pretty immediately announce new dates in May/June when their original tour got postponed, because the dates will just be postponed again.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I'd rather people/artists be optimistic rather than throw the towel in and just "welp try again next year". If it has to get canceled again (which it likely will), at least we gave it a shot.

I get being optimistic, but I think there’s just too much risk until there is a vaccine widely available. I mean, even if our hospitals aren’t at capacity or overflowing with patients, if one person with the virus goes to a 100 or 500 or 1,000+ capacity show and ends up touching a railing, sink, toilet, ATM, bar counter, etc. or is just less than six feet from people that in turn could mean 100 or 500 or 1,000 people are now infected, and then they will go and infect many other people, likely without even knowing it. If that’s happening at multiple shows every day/across the country we will be right back where we are now.

I don't think anybody really knows how things are going to be in September. Including the experts.

So I'm all for bands announcing new tour dates that far out. Most of the ones I've seen too, have said things like "We'll see what happens! Hopefully we're able to do this..."

I'm just not sure what else they should be expected to do. Not announce the potential plans that have been in the works/signed off on until we're 100% clear? It makes more sense to be optimistic, but cautious. Knowing that the tour may ultimately be postponed or cancelled but planning for it just in case.

Otherwise, you're asking them to hold on announcing it for a few months because... It might not happen? It just feels unreasonable to ask somebody not to announce something that was already planned and has a shot at happening because of forecasts. I agree, the likelihood of most anything going down in 2020 is slim to none, but I think it's perfectly fair and reasonable for things to get announced.

If people don't want to buy, then they won't buy. And I definitely think ticket sales are going to be low AF for anything announced from here on out through end of year.

Surprised Slipknot haven’t announced a postponement or cancellation as that starts this month

I think all those big summer tours are being forced to wait, sad summer referenced waiting on a decision, lamb of god and megadeth starts really soon and they haven’t said anything, Rammstein referenced decisions being made soon. I think it’s gonna be a collective annoucement.

Yeah it’s a collective announcement, where I am assuming they are going to try and re-book everything for these dates next summer

Yeah I think most of these summer arena and amphitheatre tours are falling to whatever/whenever Live Nation says something.

I’m guessing that everyone will make their own decisions based on the information that’s available to them at that point in time

I'll take way more precautions than in the past (which was none at all), but I'll definitely be going to shows as soon as they start happening

Same with me. I'll feel it out, see where things are at... And make a decision based on how things are at that point in time.

There's so much speculation about where things are going to be 6-12 months from now that it's really hard to say definitively.

But FWIW, I also think there needs to be a line drawn in this conversation when talking about festivals/arena tours and shows in smaller venues. The latter is far more likely to happen successfully. My confidence in festivals and larger concerns happening anytime before we're well into 2021 is shot. But I wouldn't be shocked to see things start happening in smaller clubs/bars in the fall.

And if it seems like things are relatively under control if/when that happens? I'll be going to shows. But I need to see what's going on at that point in time first (e.g., are there treatments, is it still prevalent in my part of the world, etc).
