April recap

listened to 65 2020 releases in April. YTD i'm at 289. Really enjoyed Tyson Motsenbocker, Circa Waves, Joywave, The Strokes, Big Loser, Dance Gavin Dance and hazel English this month.

i have 27 albums currently listed as "Really Enjoyed/Liked It" and 120 albums listed as "Liked It" so at about a 50% liked/ok rate. i will have to start going through these again and get more listens in. some i have listened to 10x times and know they'll be on my AOTY list, but others i've only listened to once or twice so i wonder if i still feel the same way a few weeks/months later.

i do need/want to try and get more rap / hip-hop releases in here. the weekly "albums in store today" feature is nice but um quite same-sy as far as the genres go.

best part - i've listened to 259 new artists this year. most of which i never even heard the name of before starting this endeavor to consume as much new music in 2020 as i could.

Gonna try to listen to an album I’ve never listened to before every day, or at least days that I work. I guess this is the place to keep a record of that.

Yesterday was Fleetwood Mac - Rumours. My dad used to play it a lot when I was growing up so I was familiar with a lot of the songs, but this is the first time I’ve listened to it all the way through. Really into it.

Tonight I’m thinking Radiohead. Never listened to any of their albums but I’ve always been intrigued. Think I’ll go with OK Computer.
