Saw a new poll of how almost 90% of new Yorkers think we shouldn't reopen and cuomo is doing a good job speaks volumes to my whole concept of IGNORING THE EXTREME MINORITY IDIOT PROTESTORS. They're a legit tiny fraction of society...and I think are hurting trump more than helping.

Glad to see my state be same and rational

 

At the very least, these politicians could say “Women should always be able to come forward and tell their stories. Tara Reade has shown courage to come forward, and I believe it is our duty to thoroughly investigate these allegations and hold those who abuse their power accountable”

None of this “it’s already been investigated” and “Biden has denied these claims so I stand with him”. It’s bullshit.

 

So the NYT wrote a puff piece in favor of Biden and his campaign still made them make it puffier... lol. Does anyone consider them a reliable source anymore?

Gathering in a skate park seems like a bad idea though. I’ve never seen an open skate park where anything like social distancing was taking place. It’s a social place.

 

Nj parks are opening this weekend which thank god

 

yeah i mean as long as you can maintain social distancing and you aren't using common areas (park benches, playground equipment, basketball courts, etc), people should go outside and get some fresh air and get out of their house/apartment if they're able and not high risk. it helps a little bit imo

 

I can only speak from my experience of working at a store and going on daily jogs to parks and trails, but I have seen very few people practicing social distance. One old guy even joked about me doing it when I was walking and walked off the trail onto the grass to stay six feet away.

 

In an email from my city:

"Some recent studies have suggested that COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms."

Are you fucking kidding? "Recent studies"? "May be"? How about ... "An indisputable fact that the entire world has known for months"

 

yeah this is why we're not going hiking anymore. we went two weeks ago, no one had masks either on or weren't wearing them when we passed them, weren't getting off the trail or created distance, etc. we've been able to go on walks around the neighborhood but those usually require us to change which direction we're walking from block to block to avoid others.

 

Ugh same exact thing happened to me walking to the mail room the other day. And the guy was maskless but his wife had a mask on

I’ve literally spend hours the last few weeks driving around to various parks and the national historic park around here trying to see when they’re busiest so that we can maybe go for a walk in the woods without coming into contact with a bunch of people
