As Naughty Dog Crunches On The Last Of Us II, Developers Wonder How Much Longer This Approach Can Last

 

This is about 8 months old but really covers the crunch time bullshit and shitty working conditions. Hasan is really good at what he does, this is a great watch.

 

Crunch is so dumb. The fact that it is dumb is also being taught in business school and has been for years. I don’t know who is running these companies.

 

ND has lot a ton of their talent over the past few years, many of them veterans

 

The story leaked out isn’t amazing but I’m not mad about it either

I like it. It sounds brutal and nihilist. and that’s a perfect idea for an apocalypse story.

Also, really bummed that the now-confirmed-to-be-totally-pointless TLOU2 delay is going to affect the release of the actual game that matters, Ghost of Tsushima.

 

Wait Ghost was supposed to come out in June? Fuck

it looks like it will be worth the wait but yeah it sucks for them

also i know, i've sorely missed their work since then

 

there are so many stories that I am like wow this needs to happen but nope companies are like KEEP THE SAME CHARRACTERS

 

I’m bummed Ghosts got pushed back because of TLOU

 

There is so much fertile ground for exploration in that game world, too. It's unnecessarily limiting to focus on the exact same characters in the same region of the world. Show us what's happening in Europe! Set the game the UK or France or something! Just call it "The Last of Us 2" instead of "Part 2". That would've been awesome. I would've been on board with that game on day 1.

And that isn't even considering the fact that the story of the first game did not need to be continued.

 

I was trying to figure out what series did a good job at exploring the world instead of one group and I remembered it now

it was the purge lmao they might not be the best movies but they at least explore the whole world

 

I still don't know what happened at the end of the last of us since it is you know on my backlog

 

The Walking Dead tried it. They utterly, spectacularly failed at it, but they did try.

It's a mediocre-to-fine game from a gameplay perspective but the story, writing, and performances are some of the best of all time. It has one of gaming's all-time best endings.

It's one of the best endings to a video game ever, yeah. It's a gut punch that pretty much wraps up the story so well that I knew pretty much from the moment I finished the game did not need to be continued.
