there are very few artists that I can comfortably call "bad" tbh

 

What do you think is their first and last essential album? I haven't dove deep because there's so many albums. It seems the first 5 are kinda the essentials?

 

If you peep their thread, the little guide from when they were the classic artist of the week is still there.

 

Full disclosure: I’ve only heard two of their albums, but Rocket to Russia was a great entry point for me.

 

Every Ramones era has winners

First 4 album are as good as it gets

End Of The Century is produced by Phil Spector and a wild ride. A must listen but it’s not as good as the first four.

Early 80’s are a little hit or miss but some of the best songs are here; kkk took my baby away, she’s a sensation, outsider, howling at the moon

Late 80’s are for die hards only, some great songs tho

90’s are aight, Mondo Bizzaro is pretty great

 

And for the real die hards, Dee Dee’s rap album

they're not even really comparable other than the name, i just think of them at the same time for obvious reasons

 

Saturday’s = Youth is M83’s best album

 

I love it but I’d put 4-5 of their other albums above it.

 

“Colours” is one of my favorite m83 songs tho

 

I thought this was accepted tbh

I was supremely disappointed with Digital Shades Vol. II.

 

Some of it was cool but I don’t care for the rest of it

 

I love the first one quite a bit. Tough to pick a favorite album by them but it’s in the mix.

 

the first essential is their first album - one of the best debuts ever. last is probably pleasant dreams, though pretty much every album after had a song or two that ripped

As a swede I take this ABBA slander personally! Every time I hear them I'm still overwhelmed by how anyone could create pop perfection like they did.

 

Imagine not liking this:

I always thought Sprawl II (Mountains Upon Mountains) by Arcade Fire sounded exactly like ABBA
