The Martha line toward the end had my entire line of people look at each other and groan. It couldn't have been more perfectly timed. lol

The guy sitting next to be gave the X-Men trailer a standing ovation

  3. Wow. DoFP is imo one of the best of the bunch in terms of superhero movies, so I'm excited for Apocalypse. The trailers have not looked great, though.

Yeah the situation was funny to me because it was a standing ovation for a trailer. I'm excited for Apocolypse. It wasn't a comment on the trailer itself, just the situation. The guy also kept muttering things under his breath and I'd miss some dialogue every here and there. Also smacked his lips the first time we saw Amy Adams on screen

  5. An ovation for a trailer is odd ha. The most I saw was that people cheered for Spider-Man during the Civil War trailer. Ew at the smacked lips. That reminds me, I saw someone raise their fist up and gasp in excitement when Lois was pushed off the building by Lex, and I thought that was weird.

Speaking of Lois, I've seen more uproar about her not putting up more of a fight with Lex on the roof than the bathtub scene.

  7. She coulda taken him easily.

Her being in the tub was integral to the movie.

  9. I wish they did more with her character. Her investigating the bullet and connecting Lex to the framing of Superman was cool and all, but unless I don't remember the payoff, it seemed fruitless by the end? She's also supposed to be Superman's tether to humanity, and I wish that was emphasized just a tad more.

In case you guys were wondering, Justice League vs Teen Titans rules. WW even addresses the 'women in distress' trope. lol

@Henry they were showing it at WonderCon and it was my contingency plan for if I didn't win The 100 signing raffle. It got a standing ovation at the first screening though

  12. Thanks for reminding me I need to download that.

My one hope for Wonder Woman is that we get shots of Chris Pine looking at Gal Gadot the way Amy Adams looks at Henry Cavill every time Clark saves Lois.

And they looked incredible in IMAX. I almost don't want to watch it any other way now ha.

Yeah, seeing this in IMAX really helped me overlook some of the problems because it was just SO IN YOUR FACE EXPLOSIVE that I could barely think about the problems during the actual think.

And Wonder Woman fighting Doomsday with an IMAX-sized warrior smirk while her theme deafened me was a perfect experience.

I don't know if I've ever been to a movie in Imax

Might do that for my second watch though

  17. I imagine this would look awesome in IMAX. I saw Interstellar in IMAX, and it's one of my favorite movie-going experiences ever.

If you can get tickets early and find the right spot in the theater, IMAX is fantastic.

I thoroughly enjoyed Tusk for how comical and batshit it is, if that means anything?

  20. "Your mom's name is Martha too?! Okay, cool. I'll be your friend now."

    I didn't love this movie...

$200 million at the domestic box office now. Am very curious to see how this holds up in the long run, and if it can cross $1B globally.

Can we not be jerks about not liking this movie as to not alienate people who did enjoy it or didn't hate it? Not that that's necessarily happening, but with Chorus launching officially today I want to make sure we keep the integrity of what Chorus is in this thread

I keep seeing this criticism but that's not what happens haha. Batman hesitates from killing Superman for a second because Superman says "Martha", which is of course the name of Batman's mother whose death is the whole reason why he does everything he does. Hearing his mother's name caused him to hesitate for that moment, allowing Superman and Lois to explain Lex's evil plan.

  24. Yeah. I totally understood that whole scene and everything that was actually happening, but that part just made me chuckle in the theater, haha.

That criticism just doesn't make any sense to me haha, I don't get what's funny/bad about that scene?
