my right joy-con’s drift is so bad it’s basically unusable, sucks. and they’re not doing replacements righ now.

 

That's bizarre it's only the right one, isn't that one mainly for camera movement?

I definitely feel your struggle, my right randomly disconnects and left is starting to drift. I just said fuck it and bought new ones, hopefully I can send in the old ones when this whole ordeal is over.

At least I can play Mario Party when I have more than two people over now lol

 

It bums me out that Switch has the Crash Bandicoot trilogy but not wrath of cortex :( that was my first ps2 game and it somehow got lost when my parent sold the house >_>

 

Anyone use wireless Bluetooth headphones for the Switch?

 

I do through the Genki adapter.

 

So my new joycons are doing this weird thing where they seem to disconnect when the switch goes into sleep mode, but while they're still attached to the console. Like, if I push the home button to wake the screen, nothing happens and I have to wait a second or two for the joycon to rumble, similarly to when you're in docked mode. The console recognizes them as attached though and charges them, even in airplane mode. Zero issues while playing. Anyone ever encounter this? I made sure to update them too.

 

Even weirder, looks like it's happening with my old joycons now too and it only seems to have started happening tonight. Idk how concerned I should be heh.

Yeah I did a full reboot, and unpaired and repaired the joycons, no fix. It isn't a calibration thing though, I noticed in a dark room, when I press home, I can see the green indicator light moving up and down on the edge of the joycon like it's trying to pair in docked mode.

I hope they're at least charging.. can someone confirm for me whether or not a charging icon should show above the controller when they're already fully charged? When I look at my controllers from the homescreen, they're fully charged bars, but no charging icons above them. Super weird it just happened out of nowhere yesterday.. my new right one was a snug fit so I had to give it a bit of force pulling it out and idk if that could have done anything, but both sets of joycons are having the problem

I have never heard of this. It must be some weird bug. I’d try doing all the stuff the system settings let you do related to controllers and see if that helps. Also, weird question, but have you tried it in different rooms?

 

I saw they have a 300 dollar controller for this

Yeah I'll keep trying to mess around later, super frustrating in a time like this. Relying on the mail and Nintendo during the virus seems like I could be waiting a long time for a repair if needed lol.

Hmm since it's an issue in handheld mode, I can't imagine where I am causing the problem, but yeah I've noticed it in my bedroom and living room

Btw, if your joycons happen to be fully charged, can you check if there are charging icons above the joycons when you go to Controllers from the homescreen? Just want to make sure they're charging properly because I don't have any charging icons above my supposedly fully charged joycons

 

I wish there was a way to factory reset the switch and not lose save data lol

 

Should be able to move all your data to an SD card if you have one!

 

I think save data only goes on the console itself, it's really just games that can be stored on SD. But it does look like there is a way to reset to factory settings and then restore your save data after some googling. It's just only possible if you're keeping the same Switch. There's just no way to do it if you get a replacement console, so I might try that eventually. I'll have a lot of games to redownload though lol

Ah ok, the joycon battery indicators go from white to green with charging icons only if the console is plugged in. Didn't realize that, I thought the joycons were always charging even while using the console in handheld mode?
