Karolina is really good

 

Getting right into the self-titled at the moment. I picked it up from AJ after a show because I'd skipped straight from War Paint to Mother Nature. I actually can't believe how good it is. A bit underrated perhaps?

 

I feel like that album gets too bad of a rap around here. There's definitely a few "meh" tracks, but the highs on there are among their best.

 

For sure. Great harmonies. Song for Kay I really love as it seems like it just flowed out super natural for some reason. And I love when he combines two parts introduced earlier in a song at the same time vocally later in the song

 

Ghosts and the closing track are my early favs but it's just on the whole a lot better than I expected. I feel like they took the S/T sound and added bigger hooks, plus some more experimentation, to come up with Mother Nature. Which was the best album of 2019.

 

I really need to get some words from that song tattooed on my body when it’s possible again ❤️

 

tbh it was enough for me that they came back at all and made a halfway decent record, so a low bar, but it was #2 in their discography for me when it came out.

 

Agreed. My faves on s/t are this is life. Fire. Ghosts. And of course Infinite which is easily their top 3 songs ever imo and an amazing closer I hope they stick with as their AJ in the crowd moment finale

 

I've only seen them on the RFTS tour so they played that album then finished with the first four tracks from Mother Nature (including the intro). Finished with Way Down. I wish they'd have played Starting Over/Slow Down which is their best track IMO. Finishing with that drum solo would have been great.

 

Damn AJ dropped another banger he wrote on his IG story today . Check it before it disappears! He is writing these for his workshop for people .hope the new dangerous summer has this vibe!

AJ is live right now on instragram story. Taking requests acoustically. He started to play catholic girls but forgot the lyrics and had to pull em up on google lol!

 

Edit: holy shit he played the demo of the first single from next TDS album! Little hard to hear but sounded awesome

 

I heard that. It was awesome. It might be a year before we hear it again. And that sucks. I wonder what their label situation is at the moment.

 

Very underrated

 

To everyone wondering the New Dangerous summer song he played had an opening like siren meets kings of leon. Very arena reverb lead guitar riff then out of nowhere a travis Barker like electronic beat comes in. Not hip hop per se but sounded like a loop (still a demo) then the vocals sounded awesome but it was hard to fully hear. It seems they are still going the MN experimentation route which is great but it still had the TDS feel and not too jarring

Then he played a solo song right after he did which was epic. Hope he just uses that for TDS as well

 

Guess I'm turning into the resident Aj song workshop sharer lol. Here is the new one he did for a couples either wedding or birthday surprise. Wasnt sure. Damn is this one solid. Hope he puts it on soundcloud soon. He said he may release them all as a solo album.

 

Was bummed that I missed that IG live the other day but stoked that it sounds like it sounded promising.

They posted just last week that they’ll have big announcements soon, so I think the label will be addressed along with that they’re writing etc. still think (all things considered) that can get an album out by the end of the year if they can start recording sometime this summer.... just likely pushed back plans a bit like everything else.

“FUCK em all” sounded cool! Hope it’s for a new album but from the above posts seems like he’s doing a lot of workshop songs too.

Either way, if we get 3 albums in back to back to back years I’ll be so happy.

 

This was the perfect album to accompany me on my walk around the neighborhood. It might be becoming my favorite of theirs.

 

I think it's clearly their 2nd best album after RFTS

 

A.j Video he did today. He opens with way down. Sounds great! He said in the middle hopefully tour in the fall and new music soon!

 

Damn, Way Down sounds great acoustic.
