Back For A (Not So) Limited Time Prestigious

Credit cards will back you up when a chargeback is done, which I see myself having to do in the future.

I'm gonna jump in here since so many people are giving opinions here without knowing the full story. I work for a concert promoter that is owned by Live Nation (who owns Ticketmaster), and the majority of our shows are on TM. If your event gets cancelled, you will get your refunds. If a show gets rescheduled and you can't attend the new date, refunds will eventually be available. They just want people to hold onto their tickets for now so that there is a chance people will use their tickets for the new dates. Everything has to be done strategically in order to prevent hundreds of thousands of refunds all at once, which would obviously hurt the company. If you have any other questions, feel free to dm me.

I figured this would be the case. I couldn't imagine a complete no refund policy after a new date is announced.

I know LN/TM are losing money hand over fist and can't "afford" to just refund every ticket immediately. But in the event that someone who bought a ticket to a show that's not happening on the date originally advertised, and they want a refund, they should be able to get it.

even you admit that it's strategy by TM bc giving hundreds of thousands of refunds all at once would "hurt the company" - sure they have to do what's best for their company, but they can't just withhold people's money. I'm not sure why you want to defend them for changing their policy sort of sneakily.

I'm gonna take the stand that if a show is announced as postponed, then a customer should be able to ask for and get an immediate refund.

this is all I got in regards to refunds for Andrew/AWOLHNATION? Personally would just like a refund since this is just straight up cancelled.

I know the world would love to see Ticketmaster go bankrupt, but the reality is they are the largest ticketing platform, and keeping the old policy at this point of uncertainty puts not only their business at risk, but every venue, promoter, festival, artist and team that depends on it.

We do want our favorite venues to still be here after the pandemic, don't we?

Most of my favorite venues don’t use Ticketmaster though

Most of my favorite venues don't use Ticketmaster either, but there are a handful that do, and other historic venues all over that could/will close because of this, which definitely sucks. But as much as I'd like to see TM burn, I'm not rooting for that, and I know it will affect many others as well. That being said, EVERYONE is suffering from this pandemic, not just TM/venues/artists, but also ticket buyers.

I bought tickets to the Rolling Stones. Show was postponed. I had cheap tickets; I'm not concerned; I don't want a refund; I'll wait for a new date. But I know there are people that paid thousands of dollars for tickets to that show that really could use a refund right about now and may or may not decide/be able to go to the yet to be announced new date.

Aquabats show I was supposed to attend in March, which got rescheduled to May has now been completely cancelled. I expect many more shows/tours to follow

I see a lot more cancelations coming as well. There is no certain timeframe to when we can go to shows again

Even if TM did go bankrupt, they would come out of it on the other end one way or another.

    Your Order Has Been Canceled
Due to the unprecedented volume of cancelations, please note that you should expect to receive your refund in as soon as 30 days if your event was impacted by the COVID-19 situation.

There are still shows scheduled in May (in Chicago at least) that have not been cancelled. I can't see shows, regardless of size, being allowed to happen in less than three weeks which is as early as I'm seeing some.

Promoters/venues/agents are still working on rescheduling those dates. Not marking something a month off as postponed allows for fewer immediate refunds until a new date is figured out.
