It’s 100% because I grew up watching Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy in my friends basement... but man I loved this

 

Isn't that the only reason any of us were interested in this? I don't think anyone jumped on the Kevin Smith train at Yoga Hosers lol

 

LOL. I've never even seen a Kevin Smith movie that wasnt part of the View Askiew universe.

Actually I saw Jersey Girl and Cop Out.

 

I'm so scared to watch this lol

 

Funny story, Yoga Hosers is the only Kevin Smith movie my Fiancé has seen back when it was on Netflix...

She’s not interested in watching the good ones now

 

I came here to say basically this, but you said it better that I would have.

 

Hated him giving his daughter such a big role after he did the same with his wife in the 1st one. Obviously the meta jokes about how this is the same movie are plentiful, but one "repeat" I could have lived without is that,

 

I watched the first half of this last night, it's pretty abysmal so far. Feels like somebody else watched the first movie and just tried to write in his style.

I love Clerks 2 but if this is indicative of his quality now I'd like him to can 3 tbh

 

Yup finished this and may be like top ten worst movies I've ever watched. I think he wrote this in a day. Maybe half a day. Just terrible.

 

This sucked a whole ass.

 

Yeah I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan, but this was abysmal. Turned it off after 35 minutes or so. I didnt laugh even once. Might be a bigger disappointment than Super Troopers 2 which was also a huge disappointment.

Not as bad as that. But it does suck in its own unique way.

 

reached the "willingly watching jay and silent bob reboot" point of the quarantine. it's bad but honestly the first time Kevin Smith has had something to say in a movie since... Dogma?

 

movie grew on me a lot. I've watched it 4 times now since October

 

I will never watch this again and probably not watch any new Kevin Smith movie again

 

I'd watch this again. It's a low bar, but I'm pretty sure I got more out of it than the original J&SB. It was easy for me to enjoy, but I wouldn't blame others for feeling differently.

 

I actually agree with that. It might not be a bottom 3 Kevin Smith movie

 

Clerks/Chasing Amy/Dogma/Clerks II are all at least semi-redeemable

Tusk, Yoga Hosers, and the cartoon one are among the worst things I’ve watched

Then there’s the rest somewhere in the middle

 

I like Tusk lol but I've already explained myself in The Horror Thread.

 

Tusk was great

 

The like 8 minutes this is a Chasing Amy sequel make this better than anything since Dogma.

(Though low key remember thinking Red State as being good)

 

Red State is also good, better than Tusk probably

 

I couldn’t get past the first 5 minutes. Really bad. Cringeworthy bad.

I will give it another shot, though, because I do love the first one.
