I guess my unpopular opinion is that Popstar is horrible. I like everyone involved but I found it awfully unfunny and a slog to get through.

I thought the Jumanji reboot had good elements but was horribly executed as it turned out to be shallow and boring.

I miss R-rated studio comedies, they've like totally died over the last few years. Last one I even remember seeing in theaters was Tag, which I actually liked quite a bit but still

Good description. The humor is “rapping granny” level bad.

I think the songs were an excuse to make the movie. I like the songs quite a bit, but I don't think the movie works all the time. Definitely not their best.

I’m pretty sure if a studio comedy comes out now, it’s guaranteed to be rated R, minus the “Jumanji” films. Personally, I kind of miss PG-13 comedies, it’s why I felt like “Always Be My Maybe” was kind of refreshing.

The TMZ scenes are 10/10 gold but everything else is painful.

Popstar is the worst Lonely Island film but still great

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion but I've been thinking about it lately: there are very few films that are both really good and have Meryl Streep as the primary role. It's either one or the other. Adaptation, Little Women, Deer Hunter, etc -- all great, but I don't think anyone would say that Streep is the driving force of the film. The one exception I can think of is Doubt, but even that is helped by PSH and several others killing it as well

Sophie's Choice, A Cry in the Dark, The Bridges of Madison County, Ricki and the Flash, and Postcards from the Edge are all very good to excellent.

And I guess she's part of the ensemble, but A Prairie Home Companion is a masterpiece.
