I know they are just demos but the quality sounds really similar to all the RAGC stuff. Enjoying this.

It’ll come out with the SM ten year release.

I’m fairly secure in saying that.

And I'm just now realizing that Simple Math is 9 years old. Holy shit does time fly.

Though, I do think these will continue to come out now as,
    1. He has time.
    2. Everyone needs to figure out a way to supplement their touring income.

I think more bands/artists will start doing this too, as things get more and more uncertain.

I hope more bands do this. I’m guessing with labels, certain bands could face restrictions. Good way to generate revenue and buzz around old material, and give fans something fun to listen to.

That is very true on the label front, MO are in the unique position that they call their shots with most of this.

Though - I think most independent labels will give artists some leeway.

I’ve seen another band/label owner with Fat Wreck Chords doing this too. The pulling from the archives is just being resourceful. We also see a big influx of new music like 8-10 months when this is all over. People could be writing demos and working with band members online right now with people staying home. After this virus is done and people cope with the effects this has caused, you get recording, mix/master, promo, release.

I haven’t used bandcamp in literally ages...can you purchase right from your phone? Or do you have to purchase from computer and transfer to phone?

I've only purchased by computer. not sure

You can purchase from your phone (in the browser, maybe not the app), and stream it through the app. I think you have to be on a computer to download, though.

Maybe I’m weird for trying to own a lot of music and keep it on drives. Expensive hobby.

I don’t think Bandcamp is trying to compete with Spotify. They’re kinda for different things.

You can purchase through a browser app on your phone, then stream it immediately through the Bandcamp app, and download it to a computer whenever.

Bandcamp did that waive the fees things Friday week or two ago to support artists.

Yeah, whatever I can do so that Andy feels good about releasing these comps, I will do.

Absolutely. My only solution would be is if Bandcamp integrates with Spotify or vice versa. I
Can buy albums on Bandcamp, and stream them on Spotify.

I would also encourage people, if they can, pay a bit more than the suggested rate.

Reward artists you care about at any turn that makes sense.
