I second the Community recc! One of the best TV sitcoms ever and a hell of a cast. And it gets so much better towards the end of S1 and all of S2

Anyone watch Better Things on FX/Hulu? Just started it and really enjoy it so far.

 

Wild to me that anyone at all is vouching for Carol. Forget the alleged murder of her husband. She has a shit ton of money and only pays a tiny fraction of her massive workforce--just as bad as any millionaire. She uses Big Cat Rescue/animal rights activism as a facade to protect herself from criticism and keep her money, meanwhile her facility's living conditions are arguably the worst of any we see on the show. To top it off, instead of spending her money on paying her employees or improving those conditions, it all goes to an endless trial in the hopes of defeating competition.

 

As soon as she mentioned unpaid volunteers who work on a hierarchy and battle for shirt colours I just thought she was guilty of everything.

 

the shirt color thing was strange, but lots of animal rescues/reserves use volunteers, but typically those are non-profits, which I assume BCR is not??

 

Nonprofits exploit labor too

Also her changing out all the wills/power of attorneys and adding "the upon disappearance" portion to it is something.

 

I haven’t seen it but it seems like everyone other than the one clueless dude who just loves animals was a pos in tiger king yet people love to make dumb memes so hey

While I don’t think her facility is the worst on the show, they’re still garbage ESPECIALLY in comparison to her fortune
Or like you said if she spent that money on improving the facility rather than on legal fees going after people. Idk.

Technically they are a non profit but that doesn’t mean it’s not exploitation imo

 

If April and May are anything like March, May 25 is literally an eternity from now.
