At least Chelsea were upper table team prior, but yeah.

    hmmm

Chelsea were actually in Europe and sometimes challenging for trophies prior. And they retained some sense of club identity, whatever we may think of it. The point wasn't really about just the success via investment.

Chelsea only got their Abramovich money BECAUSE they were on the Champions League already.

City were a mid-table team in one of the biggest cities in the country. It was inevitable that foreign investment was coming to the club.

Inevitable they were bought by foreign murderers and slave drivers.

    Inevitable.

City were a lower table yo yo team before Thaksin Shinawatra bought them. They were essentially what Bournmouth is now or West Brom a few years ago.

I actually blame the premier league. They shouldn't allow this kind of investment to take place. It totally destabilizes the league and what happens if the investors want to leave City tomorrow, where does that leave them?

I'm also aware we are sponsored by Emirates, and frankly it doesn't sit well with me either, the difference is I won't defend any of their shitty actions.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I just don't see why City fans should feel much more hollow about it than Chelsea fans should feel about their rampage around the mid/late 2000s. The parallels are still there. Both clubs have historical titles from the 60s and massive decline in the 70s and 80s. Both got investment initially (Chelsea early 90s) before getting bought out again by their current owners who then went absolutely insane with the money in a bid to win everything.

Chelsea's growth was so organic that they were on the verge of defaulting on the loans they'd used to finance the stadium when Abramovich arrived.

I expect if this had all happened to Chelsea in 2009, the reaction to their fans would have been exactly the same.

  13. This would mean Liverpool doesn’t get the title, right?

They can’t award a title and void everything else. That would be fair to other teams. Leicester City would get screwed.

Reports from 4/1 Sports INC are saying that the EPL is announcing the season null and void in a press conference set for later this week.

Jose will have the checkbook this summer. We were dogshit and get to pretend it never happened.

Does the doc get null and voided? lol

    I do not exist.

Are these April Fools reports or is it genuine...?! Ha. I just don’t expect them to cancel it now... I’m expecting that to happen towards the summer when they’ve exhausted all other options. I also think that full cancellation will be in conjunction with other top leagues. Can’t imagine if one league tries to finish and others all cancel.

Void it but keep the CL spots as they are :-)

I wouldn't count on having the checkbook. The season becoming void is going to cause huge hits to teams money flow. There were talks TV deals will be wanting money back, on top of who knows what else will be affected.

    hmmm

New season of Sunderland Till I Die on Netflix and I've blitzed the whole thing already.

Charlie Methven is quality viewing. Horrible prick.

I thought saying 4/1 Sports INC was an obvious April Fools joke. Someone in a Whats App group sent it off the second it hit midnight on the East coast

    Hold on.

If the season is void and City are banned from Europe.

LADS, IT’S ON. Can’t wait to get pumped 10-2 by Bayern again.

Everyone is quite rightly talking about how Daniel Levy is a prick, but honestly, are we talking about it enough?

A £7m bonus and then not paying a single penny of his non-player staff’s wages during this.

Would be nice if the Spurs players helped out.
