I don't think "from 10/08/2021" is talking about Venom 2, originally due out this October. I think this is about that untitled film they just marked down, like, a month or two ago.

 

Wait, Sony was planning a Ghost Buster's sequel? Wasn't the most recent one not very well-received?

Wonder how that’s gonna work since... (Morbius spoilers to follow)

supposedly it leaked that Cletus was supposed to get broken out of jail by Morbius in this one, setting him up to be in Venom 2

 

I mean, one strong possibility is that the leak was wrong, lol. If not, though, there are still a couple options, imo. Maybe that gets cut from the final film. Or, maybe they just leave it be & let the specifics of the Cletus escape be unanswered until Morbius comes out.

Speaking of setting up movies, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony tries to shoot a tease for the third Spider-Man film as a new Morbius post credits scene, since they'll have plenty of time to do so.

 

Speaking of Marvel movies, if other films stay on schedule, & if you treat this as a Marvel Cinematic Universe film (which it isn't really, but its continuity does overlap), then there will be FIVE films tied to the MCU in 2021, oh my gosh, why.

October is a much better release for that type of film anyways

 

I bet the 3 people that are excited for this film are sad.

This moving is only worrisome to me insofar as waiting another year for Venom would really bum me out. Otherwise, whatever.

 

keep delaying it until Jared Leto is in prison and then burn every copy

This going from before Venom to after Spidey (for now...) makes me wonder how much relation it really has to those films. The less, the better.

It also makes me wonder what conversations are going on right now around those two films. Still really wanna see Venom, & still curious about whatever the heck Spidey is.

 

Guarantee they only pushed it back again so it wouldn’t compete with No Time To Die in October

 

Sony pushed back their entire slate

 

I know they did except for Venom and SM3. They moved No Time to Die right next to Morbius so they then had to move Morbius. Sony wouldn’t want to release 2 of their films so close to each other.
