I haven't listened to the newest thing yet, but everything else from Spotlights has been dope and seeing them live with about 20 other people in a tiny room was sick.

So I just found out these guys exist, praying they open up before I move out of Pittsburgh (it's a vegan restaurant inspired by punk and metal)

Makes sense because I used to constantly confuse BTA and Psyopus.

Fun (disgusting) story: I got introduced to both bands through a friend of a friend, we partied and she proceeded to show us the worst torture porn one could imagine around 4AM.

    Scarred forever. Thanks Tanya.

    Take some music, why not:

Mix of math-rock and atmospheric blast beats with really well done vocals. One of those "it's not metal but it's metal" bands. RIYL: torche, mutoid man, fall of troy

Standard Havok, I'm not usually into it but I enjoyed this track:

    Electro tech-death

    Happy sounding brutal death:

    Soul-metal (plus I love Ihsahn)

    Good death, RIYL: Tomb Mold,
    Vision

Here to report that the new Spotlights EP is fucking dope and I’m gonna re-listen to Love & Decay after I watch their Audiotree session

Old school style deathgrind ala Repulsion featuring members of Exhumed and Noisem. It's some good shit.

So Rockville got cancelled so I suppose I probably won't be seeing Power Trip or Code Orange this year. On the bright side I can save up my money to go to Rebel Rock later this year and see Limp Bizkit lol

  13. Thank you to this thread for putting me on this Heaven Shall Burn album. I've mostly stopped listening to AILD and ABR for obvious reasons, and this helps fill that void. Album rips.

This may not be to everybody's taste but I'm currently obsessing over it. Berried Alive went in a weird direction with this one and I kinda love it. They take these odd EDM influences and mix it with some production and beats here and there that sound like they were lifted from a Russian hardbass album sprinkled on top of the usual Berried Alive guitar noodling fare. Actually, I don't think "noodling" describes what Berried Alive does properly.

Berried Alive sound like three sentient octopuses having seizures on top of Jared Dines's 18-string guitar, sped up to 200%. Berried Alive make Behold... The Arctopus and Rings Of Saturn look like traditional heavy metal. I simultaneously hate it and love their ridiculous riffing and the way they have these short, emotional melodic interludes with simple beats and layered autotuned singing keeps it from being obnoxious.

By all accounts this record should just piss me off but it doesn't and I can't put it down. Quarantine must be affecting me.

did I miss something with August Burns Red??

  18. Nothing they did directly. They're just adamant apologists for Lambesis, which I'm not cool with.

Well damn, good to know. And here I was jamming their new material. Probs will dropping that now. Shame.

It’s not the band, just the singer. So take from that what you will.

Wow! Had NO IDEA these two are related:

Edit: It's a joke (a day early lambgoat!)

Also the first comment is pretty funny. They look just like Jonathan Davis. Long lost cousin?!
