You have a problem with him wearing a hockey jersey with his own face on it?! (Seriously)

Anyway, I saw this yesterday and in all honesty, I didn't hate it. Just felt like a standard issue superhero team movie, not really all that remarkable. I guess I don't disagree with the style over substance claims. Like all the backstories felt like surface-level stuff, at least one of which gets pretty much glossed over.

I did like most of the action sequences though. Enjoyed Deadshot easily the most out of anyone, too.

Reviews so far are a bummer. DC has always been my favored group of characters and I wish them coming to life like this resonated with people more. I for one loved BvS, theatrical and ultimate, and am really excited to catch this.

Dude is from Egypt, evidently. English must not be his first language.

Apparently Deadshot won't kill women or children? What a bitch. Should have hired Krombopulos Michael.

Saw a screening earlier tonight. Really enjoyed it. I can see people disliking it, but I feel like more people will like it than not. Will Smith was meh and Margo Robbie was absolutely amazing.

The Thor movies, particularly the second one, are forgettable and uninspired at worst. BvS, on the other hand, is actively bad. It might be one of the worst movies based on a superhero that I have ever seen.

I like all three. I just enjoy superhero movies. I'm really not bored of this shit yet.

  13. I have little-to-no background with comics, and my opinions on comic book movies are notoriously bad (I think I see them as something different than others might), but I love the Thor movies. They're my favorite in the MCU, rivaled only by the Iron Man movies. And despite not having made a great film yet (although I really enjoy Man of Steel and parts of BvS), I just happen to find the DC universe a lot more compelling and will consistently see their movies no matter how they are received because I still always find something to enjoy about them and I actively hope for them to get better.

I have enjoyed a lot of DC films. It's this new Snyder-verse that isn't working for me. I guess I have gotten into the habit of separating the shared universe series with the everything that came before it.

I saw both MoS and BvS on opening weekend and I am seeing SS on Saturday. I would love nothing more than to have all of these movies be awesome but the first two out of the gate just didn't work for me. I am hoping SS and next year's Wonder Woman changes that (the ComicCon trailer for WW has me excited).

lol I'm don't mind this getting negative reviews at all. The whole marketing was pretty bad. Also Jared Leto stayed in characters for 6 months when his character is only on screen for 10 minutes. Hahahahahahah. This makes everything said about the way he acted BTS 10x worse.

  17. It's like super intimidating going into threads like this and talking to big comic fans about how I feel, haha. They're...passionate.

Came here to post this. WB needs to get their shit together, they have such a good cast across these franchises and they are not doing them any justice at all.

Except for maybe Jesse Eisenberg, we can get rid of him.

good news is that there is some form of teaser for Chris Nolan's new movie on Suicide Squad.... so there's that.

At least the drama didn't turn this into a Fantastic Four-like total disaster.

They do both feature levitating collections of garbage in the sky in their finales, though.

  24. Is anyone really that surprised this is getting bad reviews? I did have some kind of hope deep down, but after the past few trailers and annoying marketing it's pretty obvious this is blah.

How can you have an opinion on how good or bad a movie is if you haven't seen it?
