A few More TFL’s against the run over a whole season, does not remotely mean better run defense 50 snaps a game haha. It’s such a sporadic stat for defensive linemen. It says more about linebackers but even then those are just splash plays, not how they consistently operate.

 

It’s not like “interceptable balls” that clearly and precisely tells you how many incompletions risked turnovers. There’s no way to quantify how many TFL were actually more difficult plays than like, a nose tackle stuffing a guy at the line.

 

This started because you said Chaisson’s 13 TFL means he’s a good run defender, and then got annoyed when you found out that counts his 7 sacks. I’m like, it doesn’t matter anyway, you’re getting all nitpicky about a nonexistent stat that wouldn’t even support your point if it existed.

 

So do you not see how that’s facetious? Instead of saying “oh I didn’t know that” and operating within the actual context, you instead tried to nitpick why the stat is even recorded that way.

 

And then I explained why it’s that way and why it’s important and you still kept going on about how the stat is stupid cause that’s eaiser than admitting you were wrong about a minor thing.

How about this. Just admit you were wrong about this post haha. That would’ve avoided this whole discussion and you can have your preferences and they won’t bother me, because then you’re not trying to use some roundabout way to justify being right when you weren’t

Yeah Tebow would've been a fun backup QB to have but I feel like having that much hype surrounding your backup QB could be an unwelcome distraction
