At least they're a bit younger that is good. But the smoking thing was bad for their generation and I know pretty much my whole family smoked at some point so I'm worried.

I always feel like I gotta be the adult with my parents which is so annoying, but my dad is shockingly taking it more seriously than my mom, who has Trump brain at this point. We did make some headway and discussed the difficulties about her job situation (manages a gourmet foods market attached to a restaurant) and her worries about how her boss will keep the overhead, thankfully she's management and they kept her but I'm worried long term. She at least listened a little better after my exposure situation so maybe she'll think on it. She was also tested for strep this week which worries me but at least she is staying home from work today.

 

My mom still thinks only people with underlying health issues are dying and I wanna scream

My dad is a diehard lifelong democrat, wishes death on Trump, all that, so thankfully I know he doesn't trust a word Trump says. My mom on the other hand has been more willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt on stuff, not full-on Trump brain but she doesn't outright dislike him either, so I was a bit worried. But she's taking it seriously at least.

What's "hospitalized" entail? We had someone here that was "hospitalized", tested positive and then sent home and told to self quarantine.

 

Probably just means they had to go to the hospital.

I had an argument my mom last night about her staying home from her game night tonight. She's 66, all her friends are 66-73 with diabetes and respiratory problems, and they would not be sitting 6 ft apart. And we live in NY damnit. I even pointed out that if I was asking her to stay home, it had to be serious. How do I ground my mother?
