My mom is young and not at risk, and doesn’t think that this is a big deal. Maybe this Eurovision cancellation will finally make her realize lol

Maybe it’s good for something after all

 

My friends are worried about being able to eat beyond this week, very cool and awesome system we got here.

 

All the tent camps I’ve driven by in Chicago in the last few days now have portable handwashing stations like the ones you see at festivals. Though I guess it makes me think the city could have just done something like that all along.

 

i'm working from home but like i got no work

 

I'm so useless at work rn. Can't help but worry and keep reading up on things

 

Our power just came back, so I think we're good to go now.

 

My brother and his fiancé just moved back from NY to MA last month. Both just got jobs and started putting their lives in order ... and she just got the call she’s being laid off due to the virus.

@Max_123 @PeacefulOrca fyi it would be a good idea to go buy groceries this morning/afternoon if you are able. There is a good possibility we are under order of isolation on Friday from what I’m hearing and people are going to do another wave of panic buying if it’s announced.

 

Plus, we've got snow incoming

 

I know so many people have much larger concerns than this, but there are a couple of seemingly silly things that I have been meaning to pick up for a long time and just never got around to. Like a hatchet. I remember like two months ago being in Lowe's for something else and having a hatchet in my hand but putting it back on the shelf cuz we didn't really have the extra $35 or whatever it was to play around with.

Over the weekend when we were mostly just hanging around our house trying to keep the kids entertained I started trying to burn some of the small trees and sticks and stuff that are all over the ground towards the back of our property. Pretty much had a campfire going for two days straight which was pretty fun, but I realized I never picked up that hatchet.

I'm trying to keep store runs to only absolute essentials to minimize exposure risks and the risk-benefit analysis for a hatchet just doesn't support going out for one.

My coworkers kid got really sick yesterday and he had to bring him to an outdoor tent testing site to be tested for SARS-CoV-2 a couple towns away from where he lives and I didn't think it was worth the risk to try to go out and get a hatchet.

This really just doesn't seem fucking real. I keep going back and forth between everything just seeming so surreal and feeling numb to absolute crushing and overwhelming existential panic that I won't be able to keep my kids alive during this.

 

*phew* my company updated its policy where we don't need to use our time-off if we need short term disability.

We normally have a 5 day wait period where you need to use your time off, and I only have 3 days accrued currently.

 

The end of this Cuomo press conference is weird.
