So torn right now I really want Doom for release day play, but do not want to go to the mall with Covid-19 going on. And I never buy digital because then I can not trade the game in after I beat the campaign. Do you think gamestop will ship all orders priority so people get it release day? I almost preordered, but then it was an additional $10 to get it Friday. And I only want to order through gamestop so I get reward points still.

im genuinely unsure of which next gen console im gonna go with. but i know it's only gonna be one. my pulls for each respective side:

Xbox: Game Pass, Obsidian, Ori IP, and a general feeling of being very impressed with their last two years of moves
PS5: God of War and a massive amount of interesting/beloved Japanese studios and IPs

in the end almost all of my Xbox pros can be remedied by powering up my PC so i think PS5 is gonna be the way to go, especially if PS4 digital licenses make the jump.

I've read amazon is struggling to fulfil orders on time/release day, so I'd think GameStop is facing similar problems.

Yeah I'm basically in the same boat, except instead of "upgrade my PC" it's "wait for a Series X price drop" since I don't own a gaming PC.

Sony still has more exciting overall first-party stuff, plus they have relationships with Japanese developers like From that are more likely to result in them getting third-party exclusives than Microsoft. MS having Obsidian really sucks, and Double Fine as well, but I can wait to play their games. I'm going to stick with Sony out of the gate.
