Wow - this EP is really something else.

I wish Before the Bombs and Man in Blue made the cut on Thank You For Today. I feel like it would have made that record even stronger than it already is and would have fit nicely.

 

Yeah - it's been a while since I have seen unanimous praise for new Death Cab material lol

 

Great EP. First and last songs are especially good.

 

I actually love TYFT, I thought it was much stronger than Kintsugi and didn't mind the direction at all, but yeah, this rips. Sounds like the band going in an opposite direction after Narrow Stairs. "Blue Bloods" is one of their best

 

I love both Kintsugi and Thank You for Today and this EP is a welcome addition to their catalog

 

EP slaps.

 

This EP is okay, but nothing is really grabbing me. Unfortunately seems like this band just isn’t for me anymore.

 

It is interesting, because that is exactly how I had felt about them for a long time now, and this EP really did grab me. So much so that I have been listening to Thank You For Today, which I checked out when it came out and thought was alright but never went back to or spent much time with.

As someone who only really enjoyed two songs on TYFT (Summer Years and Your Hurricane), thought the rest were okay, and absolutely hated Gold Rush... this EP is amazing.

Also, the song Kids in '99 is about this horrible gas explosion that happened in Bellingham (where I live) and I think its a beautiful tribute to such a tragedy that sparked pipeline safety regulation across the country.

Edit: I see someone already talked about Kids in '99 but still!

 

EP isn't doing too much for me sadly. I like it a fair bit less than TYFT and Kintsugi.

 

Man I really dig this EP. Haven't been this stoked on Death since Narrow Stairs. Last 3 albums never really did much for me aside from a couple songs, and I don't even remember those.

 

Did this make it on the Billboard charts at all?
