This post nasal drip and dull ache in my lungs is scaring me a bit. I don't have complete shortness of breath that would be noticeable to a doctor, but I do feel that I'm not breathing in as much as I normally would. Hopefully just allergies and paranoia.

Had a lot of random chills and freezing, sweaty hands and feet last night and have been running to the toilet a lot heh.

Welp, I just got an email from work which basically said plan on coming into work unless you are absolutely unable.

Fuck capitalism.

 

Our boss told us WFH is optional starting a couple weeks ago and then today told us they are going to shutdown the office until April. Most of us had been working from home already. Fortunate for that.

Unfortunately my girlfriend's isn't letting everyone. Anyone with underlying health conditions and anyone who had recently been to the mountains (some of the most widespread areas in the state right now) can work from home. Everyone else has to come in for now. Which is half good, half why?

Just got a text from my mom who works as a receptionist at doctor’s office that she will now be screening patients when they come in. They apparently don’t have enough masks so she’ll be interacting with potentially sick people every day without any protection. Fucking great.

 

Nurse friend just sent a screenshot of an email telling them the CDC has authorized reuse of N95 respirators (made to be used only once) and that "brown bags will be provided for storing the respirators." grim

Not to bring it up again, but the feeling of anxiety of not knowing exactly what I’m supposed to do is exactly how I felt when I walked outside after my town was hit by hurricane Michael.

My daughter (who has pretty severe PTSD from the storm) said this last night “I just wish there was one year where it didn’t feel like the world was going to end.” Absolutely heartbreaking

The law firm I work at had an all staff meeting this morning and basically we won’t shut down until we’re forced to. Direct quote: “Considering we represent a ton of employers and governments and essential businesses (like utility companies), we stand to make a lot of money providing legal assistance.”

How are they still allowing the primaries to happen tomorrow? Is anyone really going to vote?

My sincere hope out of all of this is that people will see just how inept and terrible the current American infrastructure is and this will wake people up and make them fight back.
