Bay Area 'shelter in place' expected: Only essential businesses open in 6 counties with 6.7 million people until April 7

Six Bay Area counties are expected to announce a “shelter in place” order for all residents on Monday, directing everyone to stay inside their homes and away from others as much as possible for the next three weeks as public health officials desperately try to curb the rapid spread of coronavirus across the region.

The directive begins at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and involves San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties — a combined population of more than 6.7 million. It is to stay in place until at least April 7. Three other Bay Area counties — Sonoma, Solano and Napa — were not immediately included.

Same here. We’re being made to make 25 calls a day even if we don’t have that many people that we are currently working with, calling just for the sake of calling it’s ridiculous. Home until April 6th at least.

I asked the small Western PA screen printing shop I work at what we’re doing. An hour later, I was informed that we’re still running production, so I’m expected to work my normal couple 8-hr days.

Makes sense. Who else is gonna print those t-shirts for our presently very active local schools & churches?

 

We were able to move our wedding from May 2nd to July 24th. Feels so bizarre just up and moving such a huge event. Now we have to figure out how to coordinate with everyone and rebook hotel rooms etc.

And now we just have to hope that our country can contain this by then
