Man if Linkin Park had gone this direction at ANY point in their career that would have been wild

Has my first listen to this during a lunch workout. I liked it. Didn’t realize it was on shuffle either lol.

    hmmm

They wouldn't have done without better bands having done it first.

Hadn't realised how similar the album cover is to the recent Slipknot one until I switched my avatar to this.

man, genuinely confused by some of the comments here from people i typically agree with. the production here is pretty fantastic imo. not going to pretend to be the biggest raskulinecz fan (i think he’s actually messed up a handful of otherwise great albums), but i’m pretty blown away by what he did with Vrenna here. whole album definitely feels like Gojira+NIN mixed with elements of what UØ wanted to do on the last record but fucked up

Hammett has been trying and failing to write the solo of “autumn and carbine” for the last two decades.

LP in no point of their career was this heavy. Like if Chester screamed his head like this, that would’ve been wild.

Obviously they are way heavier, but the electronics and some of the melodies are straight up LP to me. It's like Linkin Park just discovered NIN or something.

I haven't been a fan of the band since the thrash days, but I don't really see what is so innovative about them. Mixing heavy music and electronic elements is hardly a new thing, they just do it more aggressively (or obnoxiously). And the interviews where they proclaim to be the most original band in the world are pretty absurd.

I came up with them in Pittsburgh and I'll never bash their work ethic, they busted their ass to get here so good on them. Just not for me.

LP had more of a hip hop influence in their sound, this is based more in industrial/power electronics/noise.

The live stream concert idea is a really good one imo, hopefully more bands start to do this and can get a little bit of a revenue stream going from it in these difficult times. We’re all going to be desperate for stuff to watch and talk about (other than the virus) in the weeks and months ahead.

Obviously they are not the first artist to meld electronics in metal together, but I certainly don’t know of many that do it quite to this extent. Bands like Front Line Assembly and the like have been doing it for eons, but the way Code Orange does it is very distinct.

Personally I love how jarring it is.

I think “Cold.Metal.Place” is my favorite, ridiculous track

And they make hooks and earworms out of those elements to an extent I've never heard before.

Sometimes people fail to understand the difference between invention and innovation. What other band could make this album?

What fucking Linkin Park song sounds anything remotely like anything on this album? Good lord that was a weird stretch.
