There’s one song on here that is just Jami singing and it is 100% a NIN song lmao

    Just went through it

Yea there's definitely gonna be people this isn't for, there's a few songs in the middle I could see people not digging. But I fuck with it on first listen. Need to go through it a few (hundred) more times obviously but nothing I dislike. Also I'd like to think Back Inside The Glass connects to the Swallowing the Rabbit Whole video at the end, which is neat.

First impressions are I love the heavy tracks and am iffy on the “rock” tracks which is pretty consistent with how I’ve felt about their career to this point. Overall better than I was expecting after the title track came out though. The production is better to my ears in the context of the album but I still kinda miss the Kurt Ballou guitar tone

This is very close to what I was about to post. I don’t *love* the melodic tracks but I think they balance out the record in a way that’s necessary for it to work as a whole. The heavy tracks are nuts

Overall I really enjoy it. Only real criticism is (like their other records) it’s a bit top-heavy to me.

It’s very dense, and I love their use of motifs and callbacks to their past records. Don’t think anyone can accuse them of selling out, that’s for sure

Its really tough to give any kind of impression so soon on something this dense, but I think I can say that the rock tracks here are generally better than they've ever been and the heavy stuff is probably the most insane shit Ive ever heard. Like, I fuckin start sweating every time I listen to this.

ok second listen done, I'm convinced every song has a place on the album now. The ones I was most unsure of at first was The Easy Way/Erasure Scan/Last Ones Left stretch but they all totally work for me now.

    Back Inside The Glass FUCKS

This album is officially fantastic and lives up to my hype for it

So yeah, this is insane. A lot going on. Good riffs, heavy parts, hard rock parts, some really hard parts to follow. Need more listens but I love it.

A load of my favourite heavy bands (dearer to me than Code Orange) are set to release new music this year and I'm already thinking they're probably battling it out for second.

And considering those bands include Deftones, Gojira and ETID, that's ridiculous.

I think I'm on my sixth listen. Can't remember the last time I was this excited about a heavy release.

I will add that it totally makes sense that Jami is going to be frontman for live shows. Trying to play and do vocals for these songs would be wildly difficult.

Yea even Aaron Gillespie of Underoath for newer Underoath stuff looks back to their older records like "wow I really used to do that shit"

A Sliver gets me so pumped, it's unreal. When it takes off at just before the two minute mark, I'm in the fucking sky.
