So I found myself with too much time on my hands and did a thing

 

Just picked up the rabbids gold
Edition for 20$. Hope it’s worth it!

 

I think M+R is one of the best games on the Switch. It's got so much to it. There's a great soundtrack, cool/funny weapons, co-op, challenges and DLC. Super overlooked.

 

Not doing coop just because I have no friends, but I’ve got a 15 hour drive to Florida tomorrow to stretch the legs on this bad boy

at that price it’s a steal esp with DLC

the only thing i dislike about that game is i kept getting lost while walking around the map, and the puzzle elements are just decent. feel like they could’ve improved their map designs. gameplay is really great though

My girlfriend is getting the animal crossing switch tomorrow and I’m excited to have 2 docks and 4 joycons now

Best Buy emailed just now saying I can pick up the switch. Which is weird because I’m pretty sure they are closed rn.

my wife and i both have a switch so we have 2 docks, but only 1 TV lol

 

i am on a massive Metroidvania kick. 100 percent'd Yoku's, about to 100 Ori, then gonna try to knock out Guacamelee before i have to relinquish the Switch indefinitely to my fiancee's Animal Crossing addiction... then gonna get going on Bloodstained on PS4 lol

 

Bloodstained is fuckin awesome

 

ive basically never played a Castlevania. fucked with em here and there at an age where i looked for very different shit in games. i know Blooodstained isnt an official one but seems like the best place to start.

 

Yeah it's a complete Castlevania clone and does the series justice for sure. I think you will love it.

I'm muscling through Ori, i'm finding I enjoy it if I have the right mindset as weird as that sounds. I feel that way with a lot of games. I'm currently in the Forlorn Ruins.

i genuinely dont like the "escape" scenarios at the end of each major event. the lack of checkpointing in those is maddening. not saying it's bad because i know some people are into it but i dont like it. the combat is also so shallow. but the exploration, art style, and story make up for it all. Kuro's story/motivations and the ending beats legit made me emotional.

as much as i dislike the parts i dislike, it's a 9 outta 10 for me. going for 100 percent completion has also been a joy so far. ive found two new areas i never even touched in the main story and they both introduce really cool mechanics and new story bits that are really good extra flavor. hearing the Will of the Wisps is somehow such an improvement on something already so close to perfect has me considering some desperate measures to play it lol

 

The combat is really a drawback for me, the escape parts have the HK feel where you know you gotta do it again and again but it will feel incredible to finish so I guess i'm okay with that. Yeah looks like the sequel is an improvement so I believe its on gamepass? I can just subscribe for a month and play it that way if I want.

 

if you found combat lacking in Ori boy are you in for a treat when you get to Ori 2.

I personally loved those escape sequences and they gave me the the same rush as beating a boss. I liked how Ori wasn't focused on combat and was more of movement focused Metroidvania, was a nice change of pace.

 

i find them even harder than similar sections in HK. on the final one i kept running into down-diagonals registering as ground pounds/bashes or whatever and it killed me 100 times. felt like it wasnt my own failures killing me half the time.

Got to the part in DQ11 where Hendrik joins the party and goddamn this game is so good

 

not even mad i spoiled myself on this haha it makes me wanna jump back in. i'm in chapter eight i think.

 

chapters 9/10 are really where things start going buckwild imo

I'm not 100% sure I have the chapters right cuz the switch version has added stuff but def dive back in
