I meant to be emphasizing the difference in your vote “mattering” and “making a difference” will it make a difference? Prob not. But will it matter? I mean, in my opinion yes. At the very least the numbers will show something and be used for datasets for years to come. Additionally to beef up the younger demographic voting turnout etc. That’s what I meant by that part!
also yeah our system is fuckin busted and that makes me just as mad as you. I’m not fucking “debasing” myself by being passionate & enthusiastic about getting out and voting, and being enthusiastic about getting a fascist out of office. Im never voted early until several years ago but its nice to not feel like youre scrambling around day of or whatever. I have to force myself cuz it seems like work is always hot and heavy so I cant leave it - but fortunately I can take an afternoon to do it.

 

Well I'm getting over a cold that I've had for the last two days. Probably should have stayed home, though I am far and away feeling much better.


BART was shockingly empty and right now our office has like 5 people here (though apparently that's something those here weren't expecting as everyone was here mon/tues)

I was just speaking about myself there. After volunteering and working hard for Bern, I can’t do that for a politician I don’t believe in. Literally all I meant. Have a good one.

 

It's not clear whether people in our office are worried--everyone's pretty young here (only one dude who is in his 50s, rest are 30s or younger). but in the city, I'd imagine given we've had some positive tests and a couple deaths.

 

as of yesterday it looks like San Fran has 89 cases but no deaths, fortunately

Anyway I don’t expect the same level of work and enthusiasm put behind, like you said, someone you don’t believe in. But I still feel at the end of the day it’s valuable to still vote. But that’s literally just my opinion and you don’t have to agree!

I mean, I'm not worried but that's largely because I don't have anyone I could get sick and I don't really care about myself.

I was thinking of California as a whole, good catch. We also have some quarantined cruise ship out in the Oakland area.

 

I cant believe every western government didnt just ground all flights to and from china back in december or january when it became 100% apparent that this was a bad problem - I mean how much could that possibly hurt the world economy vs waiting for it to get everywhere. now 3 months have elapsed before it makes it to our soil and we dont have enough test kits. the whole thing is fucking asinine.
