Man. You took a hard stance and then held out on offering any of this relevant information until right now lol yeah people are gonna have questions!

Personally I’m just not checking my phone that much. Like I said, I tried the silent thing before and it would sometimes be well over an hour before I became aware of something that was unexpected and required my attention. So yeah if you’re on your phone most of the time anyway I get where you’re coming from. I also don’t have friends that annoy me like that haha, save for the group texts that have already been muted

 

People don't like me so constant silence brings my expectations to a realistic level.

 

i used to be part of the vibrate gang but spam callers ruined that for me so ive went full silent and never looked back. im always on my phone anyway so any call will probably be noted/returned within a few minutes unless im busy. my dad is the only person that would use me for an emergency contact cuz the rest of my family lives in another continent and im single, so i dont really need the urgency of something like vibrate/ringer

 

I silenced my iphone in middle school so I wouldn’t be caught texting and I haven’t touched the settings since

 

I also talk on the phone all day at work so it’s the last thing I want to do in my free time

 

also like group chats be bumpin and i dont wanna be that guy with the noisy phone, even on vibrate. my phone is gonna start speaking to me in morse code if i let the gates loose

 

For real. Having phone calls silenced at night is whacko shit. Everything else on DND? Sure. Phone calls? Use your head

 

Sophomore year high school a friend texted me from across the classroom and when I texted him back his phone screamed WHERE ARE YEWWW AND I’M SO SORRY and both our phones got taken. That’s definitely when the ringer permanently turned off for me haha

 

I can’t believe that I’m somehow the only person who keeps ringer on for the most part
Obviously during times when it needs to be quiet I put it on vibrate but I really didn’t know this choice was so much the minority lol
It annoys the shit out of me that my dude keeps his phone on vibrate bc he misses my calls and texts all the time especially when sleeping

 

I have no idea how technology works and somehow the only time my phone makes noise is when a phone calls but my earbuds are plugged in? If they’re not, the phone silently rings. If plugged in, then it blares the default ring tone as loud as possible. I don’t get it and haven’t been able to correct it (mostly out of forgetting to look into it) for over a year now.

 

I would 100% forget to turn my ringer off in class or work at this point

I've literally never heard of anyone in real life having full silent on their phone without even vibrate on until I read through this thread today

 

I have full silent on mine, even for texts and calls, and thought it was the norm lol. I only miss anything if I'm at work. Can't stand the anxiety that vibrate mode brings so I turned it off last year.

 

I have no idea.

Literally almost everyone I know keeps their phone on full silent during the day

 

I always watch movies/tv shows and their phone goes off during the day and I go "Unrealistic, who even does that?"

 

Phone on do not disturb at all times so my wife or daycare can reach me if there's an emergency. Otherwise, your call is getting screened or text me like a normal person, you savage.

 

No matter matter matter matter who calls I gotta screen my phone calls.

 

My phone is pretty much always on full silent because I have an Apple Watch and rely on that vibration for notifications.

 

I'm also part of full silent gang.

I work in an office, and 99% of us have our phones on silent all day. Nobody wants to hear your damn phone going off.
