Thought this was pretty solid. Moss is great, obvs. Did a pretty good job giving this story a new spin. I had some problems with the ending and some extremely convenient character choices that come out of nowhere. But overall - worth seeing.

Not casting John Cena as the invisible man kinda feels like a missed dunk

Some minor quibbles with the last act and the score aside, this blew me the fuck away.

Yea, pretty solid. Worth it for That moment at the restaurant alone.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

very good movie, Whannell's use of empty space in those roving camera shots was really fucking impactful

I didn’t think anything in this movie was fantastic, but I thought everything in this movie was very good. I was never blown away, but everything felt incredibly well done.

My biggest issue is they never gave closure on whether or not she kept the baby which was a kind of huge plot point. Maybe it just didn’t matter either way?

My biggest problem, and I’m borrowing from another critic, is with how much they want us to pay attention to the small details of each scene, they also want us to completely ignore wild character turns like Moss’s character’s sister and her cop friend completely turning on her after one, totally out-of-character action like the email. Also, wouldn’t the cop just throw her out instead of leaving with his daughter? Still - I enjoyed it.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

I was so/so on the trailer but the hype is big. This tweet especially got me wanting to see this:

if that's the scene i'm thinking of, it's truly great, but the way they're presenting it in the tweet is a little misleading

I think they did a good job of setting up that her and her sister already had a pretty strained relationship, so it wasn't really that wild that the email would push that relationship to the breaking point. I agree more about James, although to be fair he did ask her to be gone when he got back, I think he was only thinking about getting his daughter out of immediate danger in that moment

He also addresses that it was a dumb decision for him to leave.

I can think of maybe ONE scene this qualifies for and I...don’t see it.
