I think that, while this is definitely true, the context of the "sarcasm" was absolutely nothing even remotely close to something that is OK to joke about. what if it was a serious point trying to be made, and we assumed it was a joke and just laughed about it? i think that would have been pretty awful. more awful than the person who was "sarcastically" being called out as a transphobe and didn't realize it was just a silly joke. it was an extremely ugly and unnecessary bit to even embark upon.

Genuinely speaking here, y'all, as a trans woman I think I'm allowed to engage in jokes and exaggerated bits about my own experience. Y'all don't have to find it funny or appreciate it, but uh I don't think it's fair to tell me it's not something that's okay to joke about, especially if you're a white dude.

i’ll just leave the thread. i don’t see how my original post was any different than the entirety of all the other posts about dragging bands in this thread, and audrey’s “joke” is pretty starkly different than every other post in this thread, but i’m tired of derailing this.

Your post wasn't any different and that was the entire concept behind the bit. Sorry it went over your head and hurt your feelings but also if you *really* think your hurt feelings need to be prioritized here to demonize me for making a joke (that I have not only now clarified was a joke but have tried to elaborate on why I use humor to deal with this hell life) then idk maybe self-reflect a little more.
