Excited for Hard Knocks in a week and a half.

JJ had surgery, Hopkins holding out... each of these things that happens to the Texans increases the Jags chance of finally winning the division. They are by far our biggest obstacle so I can't say I'm complaining!

 

I hope AR15 requests a trade to the Steelers

Could be much longer if the Texans aren't willing to negotiate. Either way, no Watt for 8 weeks is a huge benefit for us.

 

Let's see where the jags are by week 8 before you gloat about offseason moves

 

He'll be back at the beginning of the regular season and he'll still be the best defensive player in the NFL

Watt will probably miss week 1 but I'm not too worried about week 1...if Hopkins is playing.

I will be quite pissed if the Jags give that kind of money to Luke Joeckel.

I give some of our underperformers the benefit of the doubt... for example Jonathan cyprien finally has a chance to prove hes a very talented run support safety now that he can focus on that with Gipson taking full time deep safety duties. He will be worth resigning if hes as good of a run and hit range tackler as he has looked like so far despite errors and hesitation in zone coverage.

But Joeckel is NOT one of them. Pick 2 was spent on him and he has been just, awful for all 3 of these years. His inability to put his hands on defenders without falling on the ground has lost us so many winnable games.

 

Shaq Thompson has been flying all over the field in TC. Reports indicate he seems far ahead of where he was last season and he is more comfortable in our defense. I'm more excited to see him in his second season than the return of Kelvin. Three LBs who can cover sideline to sideline and make plays. McDermott will have some fun calling plays this season.

 

What's going on with Tre Mason?

Hope Tre gets the help he needs, seems like he's had a rough offseason mentally.
