Thank you for chiming in. Great points.

    Be my alibi?

Is Scott Adams an influential individual? I don't know anyone that uses Dilbert for cultural or society dilemmas. I know plenty of people that use Dr. Seuss's materials to help teach and form young minds, except for his really early stuff, which was awful.

I'm a Calvin and Hobbes individual personally...

And somehow by suggesting that this man should not be in the highest position of individual power in this country (with the ability to appoint possibly three new supreme Court justices) we are in the wrong.

With the benefit of hindsight, what were one or two things Sanders could have done to turn the tables.

Or did he never stand a chance?

I honestly don't think anyone is going to look at Dilbert in the future as some deep thinking, thoughtful comic strip.

I don't know if he ever had a chance...but it seems like his inability to perform in the south with older, southern black voters is what did him in. Not sure what kind of outreach he could have done to fix that.

Unemployment measures are extremely unreliable. Its dependent on how many people are in the labor force actively seeking work, and the labor force participation rate is insanely low right now so the actual people unemployed is way, way higher. A more solid measure of economic growth is average household income which is a measly 2% higher than 2009. Fucking 2% for two terms! That's nothing to brag about, in fact its shameful. And its right at what it was in 07 right before the recession. Nothing incredible about this.

it might have helped if he diversified his platform or offered a more concrete sense of how he was going to get his goals accomplished, I just got the sense though that even if had won Congress would have crushed his dreams

Telling his hardcore followers to stop being insufferable as a whole couldn't of hurt him.

Do you think he could have been more..."political"?

I think if I could go back in time knowing about the DNC hack I may have told him to "give a damn" about Hillary's email scandal.

that might have gotten him more support from people not on board but that also may have alienated his supporters

  12. Both these stats are extremely reductionist and not solid measures of economic growth. It's cherry picking stats, especially without context, to fit the narrative and not very indicative of the nuances to the current economy.

I think he could have reinforced the perception that Clinton has a disregard for the rules and a disrespect for the value of public service and is ultimately out for herself.

I don't know about attacking the emails, but he should have been more aggressive in criticizing Clinton for other positions. Considering her favorability ratings, he didn't do it enough

Dyson does a way better job summing up my basic views on this than I ever could.

Glaude brought up an interesting point that made me wonder something

does anyone know if this is this true? And if so, does that mean that if you thing change can still happen within the framework of the democratic party, people in more progressive non-swing states that voted for Sanders should still vote democrat to influence the delegate count in 2020?

I work at a pizza place and they always have Fox News on the tv. Anyway so some guy walks in and Trump's daughter was on and he was like "Man those Trump girls are hot!". And then they showed Chelsea Clinton and he said "Oh God look at her! Jeez, look at that nasty thing". Some things people should think, and not just say it out loud for anyone to hear lol

at least it's better than Rush Limbaugh calling a tween Chelsea Clinton a dog, but still very gross

    I agree.

The poverty and wealth distribution are all I need to see to know the economy is horrible. But I hate capitalist economies so its with some bias.

As far as documentaries go, Money for Nothing, which I think is still on Netflix, does a pretty good job of showing why even a productive modern American economy is a shitty economy in reality, and is built on creating bubbles that, even at their peak, generate wealth upwards towards income demographics that are wildly disconnected from those that will bear the burden of their eventual pop.
