The artist Rope and Ladder posted their new album in The Dear Hunter subreddit and it released today. I would highly recommend it for fans of TDH, this is really enjoyable.

It's pretty good. Best days are behind them, but if you like Royal Blood, Portugal. The Man, or Cold War Kids you might dig. Billie sounds a bit like John Lennon on it which is kind of nice.

 

Christian Lee Hutson announced his debut LP, Beginners, which is coming out May 29th. Released a new single from it as well. I was a big fan of this track when I saw him live with Better Oblivion Community Center and with Julia Jacklin. Phoebe Bridgers is producing this album. His other track Northsiders was released last year and was one of my favorite tracks.

 

Well this is one way to reco an album that has earned my full attention!

 

I was only just a bit over half way through it myself when I posted it, having never heard anything of theirs before that moment, but its a very impressive release.

 

WHAT?!?! how did I miss a new album in 2017? Good grief! I have some catching up to do!

I have no clue, I've been trying to figure it out for over a decade. They opened for a Mac Miller tour once, & were on an NBA video game soundtrack (in the commercial, Kevin Garnett dances & says "I LOOOOOVVVEEE The Cool Kids!")... and that's about as popular as they ever got unfortunately

 

It’s a travesty. They’re so weird and different and off kilter. In all the best ways. But maybe people aren’t ready for that. But who knows. The industry never makes sense!

Going to echo Spanish Love Songs. For anyone curious, it’s like an indie garage rock band meets Menzingers after listening to a Front Bottoms song once.
