Part of the reason they held the results and it’s taking so long. (There’s some places where the math won’t even work out given the number of delegates they’re supposed to divide up. Fun system.)

Like look at this one:

7 delegates to divide up. The math would only award 5. What you do is round, then look if any delegates are unallocated. And this ends up with the coin flips and with candidates that are closest to the .5 getting the unallocated.

Fun stuff.

(Again, from what I can see, and have heard, this is why they’re reviewing and verifying all the worksheets and it’s taking so long.)

 

My hot take: Counting should take longer and be correct and more transparent. I’m not even mad about the wait, I’m mad at trying to rush and making errors and the media’s insane desire to need it immediately.
