there was a much better way to book this than Rhea Ripley showing up on a random raw to challenge Charlotte. Why did it have to be announced now? well mainly because WWE is so shortsighted with their ratings "war" they want to advertise Charlotte for NXT this week but if you don't already watch NXT you aren't tuning in to see Charlotte Flair - she doesn't even move the needle on Raw or SDL. plus last week they advertised Bianca and Rhea meeting face to face and instead that got bumped by Charlotte showing up which again is unnecessary.

a more impactful way - especially if you want to create a moment - would have been just having the Belair and Rhea fight at Portland and having Rhea win in a tough long battle and having Charlotte attack her afterwards. Boom - great moment immediately has a ton of heat behind it.

basically I'm just disappointed in this decision because it's WWE shortchanging better booking for a cheap ratings ploy.

 

And we have definitive proof of that from the whole past year. Street Profits, Viking Raiders, etc all called up despite just winning the belts. Them running Ciampa/Gargano into the ground and costing NXT its final match.

Bianca is gonna lose to Rhea at Takeover, but she's the perfect person for that spot. They can save Rhea/Io for later time, and Rhea gets another win to stack up heading into Mania. They dont have to rush Dakota Kai's heel evolution or hurt her momentum, and they dont have to trot out another NXT UK person.

And Belair is pretty much done what she can in NXT; her character is ready for the main roster and would provide a big boost going against someone like Sasha or Bayley stylistically. A big Rumble showing, a going away match at Takeover, then the standard couple of months break before appearing the RAW after WM.

 

For sure, this would have been cleaner...and we know it would go well, since when Rollins appeared at a Takeover it was a big deal.

THat said, I think you're possibly wrong with Charlotte and NXT moving ratings. Just the possibility of it during Survivor Series had a pretty big impact for NXT.

 

well that was Becky Lynch and Bayley showing up - two wrestlers the fans care way more about than Charlotte Flair

 

also inject a Andrade vs. Garza vs. Carrillo vs. Mysterio fatal four way for the US title at Mania thank you

 

Poppy will be performing both Fill the Crown and Anything Like Me and Takeover Portland

 

Remove Rey and make them a huge heel stable. That’s what I want.

Also, I think your dislike for Charlotte is affecting your view on her drawing ability. She definitely has a following. Even when she’s heel, there’s always a decent amount that cheer for her

Cause I’m not invested, I haven’t watched the main roster in six months, so I don’t know who I should be rooting for or what storylines suck. So mania results won’t make me mad and I don’t know what the feuds are so I don’t know who is winning each match before they happen due to predictable booking.

Yeah i've done the same thing Mikey, only thing i've watched the past 3 or 4 months was the Rumble. Well, I watched Raw the night after for Edge but then realized it was gonna be the final segment and shut it off. I'll listen to Alvarez destroy it to stay caught up with some of the happenings but it's just simply unwatchable right now.

I really think the commentating is my biggest issue out of everything honestly, it is so fucking god damn terrible. It blows my mind.

 

Can't see Thatcher getting any futher in WWE than Gulak has unfortunately

 

Yeah. The commentary is fucking horrendous most of the time. That and the way everything is shot is what really makes it unwatchable for me.
