I like this more than anything they've done in the past decade. It actually has personality. It reminds me of Phil Collins or something.

    Brandon just doesn't age, huh

  7. The song is a jam!

I fully support these guys doing more drugs to make some weird, jammy music.

This somehow sounds totally different from Incubus, and also like Incubus, all at the same time.

Brandon can sing his face off.

    I like it.

This is quite good, probably fits in best sonically with the Light Grenades era

Felt like it was building to something that never really arrived, but it also sounds like they’re having a lot of fun, so I can get behind that

I dig the Fungus Amongus throwback in the video

I fully agree with both of these. I think the focusing on standalone singles move was smart for this band (at least for right now)... it’s really apparent that a lot more creative spark and attention to detail went into this song than I’ve seen from them in quite a while. It feels fresh yet still has elements of their classic sound.

If Not Now, When is aging nicely. I still enjoy it. I still wish there were a few heavier/uptempo songs on it though. That’s legit my only issue with it. it’s a big enough issue for me to knock it down on my list. Thieves might be my favorite from it. Beautiful sounding album though.

I also still really like 8. I go back to it quite a bit. Not as much a Light Grenades though. I think LG might have taken over A Crow Left Of The Murder as my favorite incubus album.

  12. I think INNW is really good for what it is. Doesn't sound like a classic Incubus album but if I'm in the mood for some softer Incubus it's great. I would agree that it's aging well now that there's some distance from the initial surprise at where they took their sound.

  13. If Not Now is too low key/mellow for my likings. It has some songs that I like but I don’t go back to it.

  14. Our Love reminds me of Silverchair (Young Modern era), I don't know what's their plans for the rest of the year but I hope both singles will be on an album further down the line.

I guess things with Island didn’t work out since this is self released?

Anyways, “Our Love” is pretty good. I’ve been a fan of these guys since middle school and even their weakest record, If Not Now, When?, is still half killer/half filler if you ask me. Also, 8 is an underrated gem.

I hope these guys never stop making music together.

Nice, they've been on a good run with the last couple of songs.

I had kinda assumed Side B just became 8, so I wonder if there's any reasoning behind making this the 'follow-up'.

Anyone saying Light Grenades is their favorite Incubus album when Morning View is a thing that exist is baffling to me. I love LG; don't get me wrong there. Haven't listened to it in years though. Morning View is a top 3 albums of all time for me.

New song is good. Has that Incubus sound I love, but I agree it seemed to build to something without getting all the way there.

"Light Grenades" was where I started to get off board. The disconnected "Earth to Bella" songs and "Love Hurts" are like bottom tier songs for me.

    RANKING

    Crow > MY > MV > SCIENCE > LG > INNW? > Fungus > 8

Don't know if that's actually how I feel about fungus and 8, both are pretty seriously flawed imo.

Morning View meant a lot to me in middle/high school. One of the biggest reasons I play guitar is bc of that album.

Crow opened my mind and ears up to how talented these guys really are with the slight change of direction. So many memories around this album too.

LG, to me, encompasses everything I love about this band.
