Maybe the hold-up is they still haven’t decided on the actual physical box design yet? That’s the only major thing I can think of that could still be in flux at this point.

they were never going to announce the price this early, they didn't announce the price at the February 2013 event either

 

I would imagine at this point they have the box design now. Like the Series X has prototypes already built. Not sure what Sony is doing...

I honestly wonder if it comes down to both Series X and PS5 being THAT close in specs and they don't want to shoot first. Seems weird they won't even show the box, though. Wasn't there a rumor that PS5 had some reworking and was pushed to 2020 from 2019? Maybe something is up

 

The specs are 100% locked in by now regardless of anything else, the actual appearance of the box could potentially not be. Maybe the PS5 was going to look similar to the way the Series X looks and they had to frantically scramble to redesign it? That's always a possibility too.

 

Yeah, who knows. I imagine we'll get some info down the line at some point. Very curious as to why they are coming from a point of strength and don't seem to be acting like it.

 

Especially because last time they decidedly were not coming from a point of strength. I can’t imagine they’re going to hold off on details until the summer, that would be so dumb, so maybe April? Idk.
