  2. So my coworker is from Iowa and her parents still live down there and run a farm. I asked her if her parents are caucusing tonight and she said "yeah, my mom likes Warren and my dad likes Klobuchar. My dad thinks Bernie is too old"

    cursed

  3. Pretty sure the point of the caucus is to come to some sort of consensus around supporting a nominee at the end of the night, so you'll basically have a room (like a gym) full of people trying to get voters to literally stand on their side of the room. As the night goes on, the goal is to rally around one of the candidates - probably one of the top 3. They will literally debate and try to get folks to join their side haha

Eh I think it's better than Biden winning. Even if he does well in NH and Iowa he doesnt have a path forward beyond those

I don't look at the needle. The needle looks at ME.

Yeah that part I get, but with this one in this tweet thread, these people obviously won’t be there to caucus/switch candidates/etc so how can they be considered finalized now and etc.

  8. absolutely, Pete needs a win or top 2 to even continue being viable imo. biden win is terrifying and almost as good for him as bernie win would be for bernie

We had to caucus in 2016 and let me tell you, fuck that shit, so glad we don't have to do it this year

  12. It's a satellite caucus. The numbers (14-1) be used later in the night.

(Following any of these counts and stuff now won't give you much information about what's going to happen.)

  13. Minnesota was a caucus in 2016, primary this year. Sooo much easier.

  14. following individual caucuses seems dumb yeah. i kind of wish i got to caucus bc then i could do targeted political harassment to all the biden supporters in my town but in real life

Very excited to waste my entire night on a chaotic, extremely inefficient process that my state only continues to use because they’re desperately clinging to the one remaining bit of political relevancy they have. Should be fun!

I know everyone is shitting on the caucus, and for some good reasons, but I do like that works as ranked choice voting, essentially

"The caucus in Ottumwa, population 24,550, on the banks of the Des Moines river, will net Sanders four delegates. The Warren supporter said she would not realign, meaning her vote effectively won’t count toward anything."

    Um excuse me
