I'm friends with the butcher, yes. The owner and the head butcher always want to talk to me when I come into the shop. The one time the butcher asked me if I was ken of ken's table and I said yes. So he called the owner out and they kept talking about how they love that I use their products and tag them on social media. They told me the farmers they use love me too. They said that people come in and say that they saw their products on my instagram and that's why they've come into the shop.

They've also told me multiple times that they want to work with me and that we need to make something happen. I'm supposed to have the head butcher over for dinner sometime in the next few months, although we have nothing scheduled.

The owner told me that he wants me to help them promote new products, particularly some dry aged meat items, so they intend to start giving me free stuff to cook and then promote for them. Although we'll see if that actually ever happens.

There's a bunch of restaurants, associations, and people in the area who know me as "ken of ken's table" which is mind-boggling to me.

Don't you have butchers all over NYC? I like knowing that the meat I'm purchasing is organic, ethically raised, and local, haha.

That's fucking cool man! You should really lean into that. Could start small and build into something bigger and if not, well at least you made some cool friends. Sounds like a great opportunity for at least some free product.

Not to mention the power of connections. Nearly every job my sister has gotten as a chef (in a kitchen, personal chef, with orgs that host dinners, done food for photo shoots, etc.) has come from people she knows or met along the way. She's worked with two food network chefs the past year that asked her to do chopped lol.

My Dad goes to a barber that also cuts keys, Now that's what I call multi-skilled
