To be honest, they were probably also just waiting for security to do their job and Emma individually didn't want to wait. There's like liability stuff that they could get wrapped up in if they touch any of the venue's customers in that kind of context, whereas the security guards are (theoretically) trained to do this kind of thing and also the venue has insurance in case anything happens. The talent really isn't supposed to do that kind of thing.

 

Yeah, plus Emma worked as a bartender for like ever, right? I'm sure she's dealt with hundreds of these dudes and was just like "fuck this guy."

 

True but having that background she should also know that the security/bouncers/door people are the only ones who are supposed to touch the rowdy customers, and even then it should only be done as a last resort. I worked as a doorguy at a local bar one summer years ago and they specifically told me that when I was trying to get someone to leave I had to do everything I could to get them out the door without touching them.

But I get she was probably just being protective of them, I would've done the same thing in that situation.

 

Also I feel like I saw on Reddit that the guy's girlfriend/wife was the actual fan of the show?

 

man. i don't remember this at all.

 

i don't really blame nick/mitch for not doing something. that's the responsibility of security 100%. nevermind the fact they were in the middle of performing and probably aren't trained in the improv of booting someone lol. but yeah, props to emma for stepping up, for sure. she shouldn't have had to.

 

None of them should have done anything other than call for security. At the point that you HAVE to protect yourself/each other, then you do what you have to, which I guess is when Emma stepped in, but even then it looks like she did the right thing by gently escorting him away.

Cool of Mitch to still not want to kick the guy out, even after he came on stage after being explicitly told not to. He could have potentially been dangerous, but it seemed more likely that he was just dumb/drunk/oblivious and Mitch was showing sympathy.

 

that being said, fuck any and all "hecklers" - they should really all be removed from all shows

 

Mitch is a truly lovely person, is what I’ve gathered from listening to this show.
