I have always thought of myself as a huge fan of his father's works, but I have also collected many, many books that he put a tremendous amount of work into himself. I'm struggling to find the right words here, but it's been seen so many times how hard it can be to live and work in the type of shadow cast by success on the level of an author like J.R.R. Tolkien, and Christopher Tolkien always struck me as an example of how it can be done in a healthy and productive way.

Excluding his history of abuse/adultery/rape I’ll remember him most for the Kings epic rivalry with him, and the lakers circa C Webb/Bibby era.
