I'm into this. That second verse is a thing. Damn.

Also, I heard "Kevin" when she first says "give in" and I was thrown for a second.

I’m so excited to see her perform in a different way.

Simply, she didn’t want it to be paramore, she wanted it to be hers alone. No reason to further scrutinize imo.

They aren’t scrutinising it, they’re making conversation. No need to be stand-offish. I’m sure there’s a lot of people interested in her reasoning. To me, especially from the lyrics, it seems like a very personal venture that she needed to express on her own. It definitely isn’t so out there that it wouldn’t work with Paramore. I just think people expect something different of them. This gives her a bit more creative freedom free from the pressures of Paramore.

That's good enough for me. I saw someone say they could hear why it wasn't a Paramore track and I thought I was missing something

I wasn’t trying to be standoffish, I just don’t think it’s a super necessary conversation. In my opinion, there are more interesting aspects of the project to discuss than why it is or isn’t under a different name. Artists choose to use different monikers all the time and Hayley has been scrutinized in so many ways for reasons her counterparts never have been. Please don’t read aggressiveness into my tone when there is truly none- I wasn’t going for that at all.

Sure, but as far as I know, Taylor co-wrote this single at least. So on the face of it, its a pretty valid question to pose.

I listened to this so far without headphones a few times, I am beyond pumped to get done work and put on some headphones and really dive in.

This record is going to be too much. I can feel it.

Fair, bit it’s a question that’s obviously going to pop up in a music forum of all places. Might not be interesting to you but it doesn’t mean you need to try shut it down. It’s valid.

Welp that’s why I said “in my opinion,” y’all are free to discuss whatever you like here! My official stance remains “because paramore can’t say fuck.”

May have been me you are referring to, and for me, it makes sense because I feel that Paramore's signature is just energy and Hayley's powerhouse vocals. This is a little more subdued, she is pulling back in some parts where I feel like she would've gone for a belt on Paramore. Like the chorus in particular would've been more explosive in a Paramore song. It's cool to hear her explore the quieter beauty of her voice. Even a song like Told You So which kind of plays with this imo ends up with her breaking down with the "PULL ME OUT AGAIN".

And also ya Paramore can't say fuck I think that's a valid reason too

It was a bit too long, but there are definitely 3-5 really solid tracks

Spotify doesn't have one either. Just album art for Simmer, very strange.

I get so confused whenever people talk about Emily Haines because I think they are talking about Emile Haynie and it never makes sense.

It's just a joke because they haven't and now Hayley said it in her first solo song

I won't be explaining this further because I don't really know why myself, but this kind of reminds me of "Influence" by Tove Lo. Or at least somehow caused that to get stuck in my head
