Interesting, considering I haven't liked the last two records. I thought this was decent.

    Assume It's A Bit

I feel like this is a nice blend of the vibe/songwriting of LYR with the more rock instrumentation of DP

I think it kind of just sounds like it's straight off of FH lol. I really like it though

Not as immediate as songs from LYR for me. I can’t say I’m disappointed they didn’t explore that sound more but I’m sure it will grow on me.

Surprised to see how positive the reaction is. I like it, but it's VERY radio-alt, way more than even LYR. Not sure what to expect from this record.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

Sounds kind of like a Gang of Youths song in the verses, mixed with a ATL chorus with Alex imitating Matt Skiba's vocals

The bridge is sick, really wish the chorus went OFF more though

I'm not sure I love the new song, but I'm excited for new music nonetheless. May try to grab a couple tickets for the Boston show next week if I can convince my girlfriend to make the not so wise decision to say screw it and drive the 3 hours with me on a Tuesday night.

I love this. Usually it takes me a few listens to really get a feel for a song but I loved this the first time through.

I really really love the verses. I like the choruses but the "I'm a liar I'm a cynic..." thing is a little cheesy to me. It'll grow on me though. To me it's got a vibe of the LYR music style, but where that album feels very much like a nighttime album, this feels like a bright summer day.

Boston show is at 8:00pm. Doors at 7:30.

Pre-sale is up for that one. The tickets are actually $10 because of service fees.

“All Time Low has returned with their first new music in over a year. Today the band shared, “Some Kind of Disaster,” a standalone single which debuted alongside a Lewis Cater directed music video streaming now on Fueled By Ramen’s YouTube channel.
All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth remarked, “Your favorite Disaster,All Time Low, have returned with their new single, “Some Kind of Disaster” — Blood, Sweat and Tears, we’ve done this dance a thousand times, but it’s all for you, and it feels right. We hope you love it like we do.”

Furthermore, All Time Low have announced a string of intimate east coast live shows set to get underway next week. The upcoming live dates will see All Time Low bringing their raucous live show to Boston’s Brighton Music Hall (1/28), New York City’s Bowery Ballroom (1/30), and Baltimore’s Ottobar (1/31). Tickets for the three dates will be just $5.00 and will go on sale today at 3:00PM ET . For tickets and more information visit www.alltimelow.com.

This past November All Time Low released “It’s Still Nothing Personal: A Ten Year Tribute.” Recorded at Red Bull Studios in LA a decade after the release of “Nothing Personal,” the collection features brand new recordings of the classic album’s tracks. Additionally, the release was accompanied by a documentary capturing All Time Low as they revisited the making of “Nothing Personal” with studio footage of the band re-recording the album, as well brand-new interviews about the influential record. The “It’s Still Nothing Personal” is streaming now on All Time Low’s YouTube channel.

All Time Low’s latest studio album, LAST YOUNG RENEGADE landed Top 10 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in June of 2017, marking an unprecedented fifth consecutive Top 10 album for the group. The album features a string of singles and standout tracks, including, “Good Times,” “Nice2KnoU,” “Life Of The Party,” “Last Young Renegade” “Dirty Laundry,” and “Afterglow,” all of which can be viewed now at the official Fueled By Ramen YouTube channel.

LAST YOUNG RENEGADE arrived to critical praise, with Rolling Stone declaring, “The quartet’s seventh LP sounds like one of their most carefully curated statements yet… the songs overflow with big pop hooks,” and Paste attesting “All Time Low ca. 2017 is refined, sleek and frankly, just better than they’ve ever been before.” More recently, All Time Low released the standalone singles “Birthday” and “Everything Is Fine,” which was praised by Kerrang! as “an absolute banger”.

Girlfriend happily agreed to head to Boston after work with me. Already grabbed a couple of tickets. This is gonna be so cool. I usually don't travel very far for ATL because they play Maine a lot (more than any other band in the general scene, kudos, guys) but I can't pass up something like this.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Dirty Work gets a lot of hate but I’ll always come back to Do You Want Me (Dead?), Guts, Time-Bomb and Heroes. The rest though, yeah I don’t even really remember it. Might revisit.

*Checks track list..* oh yeah, I Feel Like Dancin’ was yikes :crylaugh:

  23. TEGCRocco

    Assume It's A Bit

I still say that if Dancin wasn't the lead single, the reception to Dirty Work would've been a lot more positive. I think a lot of people wrote the album off after that when there are some real gems on there. That Girl is probably their worst song and Dancin was definitely a misfire, but there are some great tracks there. Heroes, Return The Favor, Guts, Time-Bomb, Do You Want Me etc.

I strongly believe this as well. People made up their minds that they had sold out and weren't going to be open to the rest.

Off topic, but I feel this way about Motion City's Panic Stations too.

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff on Dirty Work that I really love. Perhaps even more so than on Future Hearts. In any case, those two sit pretty definitively at the bottom of my discography ranking.
