But, that isn't how they view it. To them, it is similar to a co-worker setting you up to fail every single day, making your life miserable, preventing you from getting a raise for the good of the company, then asking for help when it seems as though they aren't going to get a promotion.

During Bernie's speech to his delegates today Jane came up to him and said "They don't know your name is being put in nomination, that's their concern"

Seems to be giving a lot of people on social media false hope.

I'm actually surprised Stein isn't polling higher. I knew Johnson would poll well because libertarianism is very popular to people who don't understand public policy, which is the majority of people, and I really thought Stein would be polling at at least 8% by now.

If anything it will be similar to the roll call the RNC had which Clinton will win, maybe slightly closer, but nothing Clinton has to sweat out.

My guess would be a role call vote, honestly I don't know though.

  9. This is interesting, but I see some potential snafus. Would there be exit polls on Day 1? I imagine the media would be reporting and saying things like, "at the end of day 1, our data shows Candidate A in a 5% lead" or something like that. Then the remaining people who planned to vote for Candidate A say screw it on stay home on Day 2 because you think they're going to win.

Or, we'd have the flip side of that and everyone who supports Candidate B goes out and votes like crazy because they heard Candidate A was winning on Day 1.

I think this whole theory only works if the media is barred from reporting on polling data until the whole thing is over.

  10. I mean, what they ought to do is put their efforts on creating a secure system for digital voting so the polls become even more optional than with mail-in ballots.

Who thought it would be a good idea to have Schwartz try to make a public appearance today?

Both scenarios are extremely likely. Barring the media is impossible and illegal, however, restricting their access to the data could be managed. While they would have exit polls, it would have to be stated and up to the general public to know that exit polls don't represent all of the data, but a small sampling based on the information provided by people, which might not be accurate.

In fairness, even with 1 day voting, the media reports the second they get any information regardless of polls being opened or closed, so the public being swayed is something that already happens, even with previous data being used.

Sounded like an awful lot of people shouting "Bernie" during the invocation at the DNC.

  19. Dear Bernie 2016 Delegate,

Thank you so much for your efforts on the campaign and your hard work to advance the political revolution. We have accomplished much. Much more needs to be done.

The political revolution is not about one election or one candidate. It is about transforming America and continuing the fight for economic, social, racial and environmental justice. We have to continue to work together to advance the progressive future we all support.

During this convention you represent not just the 13.3 million who voted for our campaign. You also represent the future of our movement.

I am asking all of us to bear that in mind while we are on the floor of the convention. Our credibility as a movement will be damaged by booing, turning of backs, walking out or other similar displays. That’s what the corporate media wants. That’s what Donald Trump wants. But that’s not what will expand the progressive movement in this country.

I know everyone is frustrated, especially by the recent DNC email disclosures. But, as a result of this disclosure Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced to resign. This is a very positive sign.

We have made great progress in the last year. Let’s continue going forward.

I would ask you as a personal courtesy to me to not engage in any kind of protest or demonstration on the convention floor.

    In solidarity,

    Bernie Sanders

Well, considering a lot of them were Democratic politicians in the 90's, that makes sense.

The record of a lot of Democratic politicians in the early 70's as compared to where they were in the late 50's probably didn't look too hot either.

I think they're saying one would expect them to have people more representatives of the ongoing movements.
