paid meet and greets are fine. they result in a couple of things:

- you usually get more time and an actual interaction with those that you're meeting
- the people you're meeting are likely less overwhelmed and more loose
- it weeds out the type of people they have to deal with. you're probably not going to pay to disrespect someone or stroll up shitfaced

 

This episode feels like it has weird edits. Especially after they mention Jack feuding with Che.

In theory, yes, and maybe with the Doughboys, it'd be that way but none of these things have held true for the ones I've been to.

When I've paid for meet and greets, it was "one picture, get the thing the artist is selling signed (and nothing else), and move on" - Then you had drunk idiots that felt extra entitled because they paid for the meet and greet.

I guess it all depends. A lot of the paid M&Gs seem like they're pushed by management and they just want to collect as much money as possible and move it along as quickly as possible.

When an artist chooses to just come hang out after a show, they're usually not in a rush and are more genuine.

Just my experience.

All a paid meet and greet tells me is the Doughboys can literally be bought

 

To be fair, you're paying for VIP, which includes premium seating as well, not just M&G.

I went to a Chicago style chicken place here in Dallas a couple weeks ago and was NOT a fan. If you like sweet ketchupy tasting stuff, then you might like your fried chicken covered in mild sauce.

 

CBB did a meet and great after one of their live shows for free and you got to quickly say hi/have a shirt signed and then you moved down the line. When I saw Hollywood Handbook at a much smaller theater in Boston they hung out in the lobby with Chef Kevin and we talked to them for a good 6-7 minutes

 

I’m already like 8 rows back. I just didn’t realize the VIP was a thing when I bought my ticket.

 

That’s a different one. His cohost is Edgar Momplaisir. The episode with Wiger and Mitch is great.

Of course we don’t get any snow all year until I have to drive to Cleveland for Doughboys.

 

I usually don’t mind paid meet and greets. I’ve paid for the VIP upgrade each of the last two times I’ve seen The Early November and it has been incredible. Ace spends like 35 minutes with the VIP group just talking and playing songs. Very worth the extra cash and always happy to give extra support to someone whose work has meant a lot to me.

 

For something like this, I ABSOLUTELY see the value in paying for a VIP/M&G, and have no issue with the artist charging for it. Let me sit in on soundcheck or a Q&A or something if I'm paying $50 to meet your band. But don't charge me to be ushered through a line as quickly as possible to only be allowed to get your newest record signed and one quick photo.

they have an email address they’ll say to email questions in to and then Emma or whoever picks questions from the submissions.

 

Oh, would that have happened before the day of the show then? Or like at the beginning?
