Does "Bernie Sanders isn't sexist" explicitly need to be said? Knowing the media, I worry they would just use that as more fire to talk about "Is Bernie Sanders sexist" and I'm not sure it would change any minds the people who believe Bernie is sexist would just use this as more evidence of forcing Warren into making such a statement for the good of the party

Ultimately I think Bernie could've and should've clarified more what he said, and pointed out that sometimes what you mean to say is different than what is heard. Offer an apology, reiterate that he fully believes a woman can win, and move on.

I also think Warren could've and should've clarified more too. Hiding behind "I disagreed" is rather vague when you're not actually stating what you disagreed with. Clarify that she believes Bernie when he says a woman can win. Yell at the media for making a meal of this thing and distracting from the real issues.

But like, they are both human. Humans aren't perfect. Both candidates would make great presidents. Lets go back to focusing on the issues that matter.

  4. Seems very little. Once the statement (paraphrasing) from the campaign was something like "it's a lie and I expect Warren to call it a lie" was out, it felt like this fight was inevitable. And, I do think there are people in both campaigns that want this fight. (Easy to see just by having read their twitter feeds for 4+ months.)

I think Warren would make a better president than Bernie, but she has made a number of errors in judgment with her handling of spurious bullshit. There's going to be a lot more of that coming in the general. Still undecided between the two of them but I donated to Bernie last night.

I agree with that, both of these things would be infinitely better than what is currently happening

I think Bernie has the better ideas overall but Warren would probably be better at managing the bureaucracy. Just a hunch on my part based on the way they've approached governing and what they have to say and etc.

as a bureaucrat, what we need are valiant ideas, not someone who is liable to overly concern themselves with how things have been.

In a representative democracy, you also need to rally votes for the things you want.

  14. Maybe true, but Bernie's theory is self-provable. He activates the new voters, he wins easily, and there's an organization in place to now try and push his agenda forward and putting pressure on politicians. I think that's what's most interesting about all of this, we can see it happen or not. Warren's theory (so far) seems more about working in a system if that mass mobilization doesn't produce the results (filibuster, use of executive order [yesterday's announcement that went undercovered was good!], and other bureaucracy bullshit). (And, it's very clear: Both will need the other as a close ally regardless.)

Sanders is capable of mobilizing that with policies that will actually transform people's lives for the better in the now and is capable of restoring the future re: climate. People can and will rally behind that.

Heh yeah I know he's still a POS conservative. Just haven't heard anything about/from him after he was tearing everyone a new one on Fox over that immigration policy and I was surprised at the time
